There are so many wonderful young talents in the EU and Asia these days. The bar has been raised, in my opinion. How sad that the emphasis on the arts has been taken out of the schools in the US.

Wunderbar gespielt.

Lara Boschkor is the soloist. Outstanding performance!! Bravo!!! This work is very seldom performed live and not because it's not a good piece. Few violinists have it in their repertoire - it is extremely difficult in too many places.
@nelsoncheng46383 жыл бұрын
violinhunter2. Wieniawski's first concerto is difficult, for sure, but so is Paganini's first (even without Sauret's notoriously difficult cadenza), which is more popular among violinists than Wieniawski's first is. Wieniawski's second is more popular amongst violinists. As to why Wieniawski's first is not as popular, it could be that its level of difficulty is hyped up by people writing comments such as yours, and so violinists freak out and stay away. But if one actually learns to play it, as I myself am now doing, one should find that although it does have many techniques in it, especially in the first movement, once one learns the technique, one should find that this piece is quite playable, since it fits the hands comfortably, unlike the Tchaikovsky violin concerto, which Itzhak Perlman calls uncomfortable.
@violinhunter23 жыл бұрын
@@nelsoncheng4638 I am 100% certain that professional fiddle players do not listen to ANYTHING I have to say regarding difficulties. I know dozens of violinists and believe me, they could not care less about my opinion regarding the things they play. If they choose not to learn it, it is either because they themselves fear it or the thing is just not popular with conductors who ultimately choose the repertoire and it's really not worth spending time learning something you will seldom perform and make money with. The same can be said of the Schumann concerto (which is much easier than this thing.) The concerto does not sell so it does not get air time. That's why we hear the Bruch, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn (e minor), Tchaikovsky, and Sibelius over and over and over and over and over...... It might just really be a commercial decision - wirklich! It's like spending lots of time and money building a beautiful mansion which nobody will ever buy, much less live in! The artistic gain does not justify the effort - and the effort would be considerable. Thank you for your comment and good luck with this lovely concerto.
@IC40R2 жыл бұрын
@@violinhunter2 you say nobody cares and yet you are here listening to this concerto. I personally think this concerto is under appreciated because though it’s not written as a normal romantic era concerto there are things to enjoy in it. Not to mention it also depends on the phrasing of the player as well. In terms of technique it’s not really that far off from pieces like pag. Either way you shouldn’t write the type of comments discouraging people from playing this concerto ;-;

@norby hofner Editing? You want proper editing, you say. Ha. The Internet (so-called) went mainstream circa 1995, and it's been all downhill from there. If you can believe it, editing at one time was a proud and even well-paying profession. But like the horse and buggy and rotary telephones, that's all ancient history now. // As others have mentioned in these comments, it seems that the violinist is Lara Boschkor.
