Only 18 years old, Spanish violinist María Dueñas is a rising star on the world's concert stages. In March 2021 she made her debut with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, performing Max Bruch's famous Violin Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Manfred Honeck.

Give it another 5 years and she will become the young Vengerov, but different. I have not seen anything like this, ever. Not just her impeccable technique (which im sure she worked very very hard for), but there's also something very natural, very innate about her music that's hard to describe with words. You dont usually see this in other prodigies

You can tell her violinistic approches and musical ideas are not always in the style of her teacher whom she adores and respects. But fortunatelly her personality imposes. Brava Maria! The deaf adjudicators at CMIM 2019 couldn't see/hear that they were witnessing the first true great virtuoso of the 21st century. That's ok because she doesn't need any competition prize to define her superior artistry. There is no other violinist/soloist on stage today like Maria, period. Watch & listen to her now. Her prime is only beginning. I look forward to her Carnegie Hall debut. Thank you for making music, communicating & touching hearts in every performance, Maria! This video that I return to over and over again leaves me feelings of intense emotion and profound beauty. Thanks to the young violinist María Dueñas, an immense soloist (charismatic, cheerful, technically magnificent, beautiful). Thanks to the Elbe Philharmonic Orchestra for their extraordinary performance, and to conductor Manfred Honeck for giving us a wonderful version of the Max Bruch concert.
