Love it but hate that they removed stalks for gear shifting, lane change, wiper, autopilot, and steering wheel adjustment. Totally agree that the horn not being manual in the middle is annoying. I love the 2018-2020 S/X steering wheel setup. Other than that, I want one! The two screens is so much better than the solo setup in 3/Y/Cybertruck.

You guys are awesome together! I bought a Bolt EUV recently and I was cross shopping with a Model 3. My wife, who makes Cathy look like a tech guru, would drive it often because she has he longer commute. After watching Cathy struggle with the controls on the Tesla, I know I made the right choice with the Bolt even though the Tesla was cool.

I had a 2013 1/2 (updated battery) and I LOVED THAT CAR! From the start up sound, to the tech, to the Cadillac like ride. My friends all lovingly called her the spaceship, and even the most ardent hater of GM or scoffer of the coming electric future… LOVED THAT CAR. Everyone of them would give, “well this is the exception to the rule.” kinda vehicle. Got Tboned in it at 50 and easily walked away but it destroyed the BMS system where it connected to the battery so they totaled her. ☹️ Even with a new version of the Tesla M3 Ludicrous model in my near future, I’d still like to own one of these again. Seriously one of the best GM products they ever made.

Just to mention ….. you did not have everyone step back from the vehicle so we could see a full screen picture of the vehicle without anyone in the picture except for the Model X as the Red color is so striking !!!!

The automatic doors still open all the way, but you can't be standing on front of them when they do, or else the door will assume you are an object it doesn't want to hit when it opens. It can be a bit finicky, but if you stand behind the door when it opens, it will usually open all the way if there aren't any obstacle's in 2-3ft. proximity.

It appears you do not like a YOKE steering wheel ….. but the New Cybertruck has a STEER BY WIRE square like shaped steering wheel which appears to be terrific. Also one reviewer really liked that Drive by wire ability as you can turn the vehicle fully with just a half turn or so. It is mostly flat on top to easily rest your hands and also mostly flat on the bottom which makes it so pleasant to drive while comfortably resting your hands down on the lower part of the steering wheel …. really kool > I wish they would offer that on the other models !!!

Great video. Enjoyed your conversation and banter. We just got a used 2020 model x 7 seater performance with 50k miles on it. 0-60 is around 2.7-2.8 so not that far off from Plaid. We need the second row to fold as well as we just slept in the car with our 2 dogs. I am disappointed to hear that the front doors no longer have sensors and do not open all the way automatically. That is a shame and I would miss that now. I think I could get used to having the stalks and it may be easier to drive ultimately, but with also having a 2018 lr awd model 3, there would be an issue with going from one car to the other. I would want to only have both cars either with stalks or without. Plus my work box truck has stalks and if I ever drive another car for some reason, that is something that is harder to adjust to on the fly. Regen, one pedal driving is easier to deal with when I drive my truck, but for every turn signal activation, that would be an issue. I think keeping stalks longer would be my preference. But one pedal driving is a requirement. It made our decision to get only raven x (sept 2019) and newer a must.

The car is good... only thing with Tesla's are the brakes. They're not very good. I had a Lexus that stopped like a Porsche. What a feeling! I'd take good brakes over 0-60 acceleration any day. I may buy one of these with some of my Tesla Profits one day... for now, I can put it off. Tesla has amazing interior ideas though! At Least Cyber Truck has horn button in the middle like a regular car, perhaps they'll change the whole range of vehicles one day?

I do not understand how Model X drivers out up with the inadequate sun visors. There are a couple of scenes in this video when the sun is obviously in your eyes and bothering both of you (see 8:39 for example). I would be wearing sunglasses anyway, but even so when i test drove Model Xs several times, I simply could not cope with the sun blazing in. How do you manage to tolerate that?

@dconner9 Sorry, I don't know how to pm. Open the door using the key fob or your phone from a distance. You cannot be standing in front of the ultrasonic sensors "embedded in the door." The front door sensors, like those embedded in the falcon-wing doors, are unique. They are behind painted metal door panels and unseen because EM and team thought it would be better. Since they are hidden and obstructed by the painted metal door panel, to register correctly they are higher power than those that were used in the bumpers. Love MX. Falcon-wing doors w captain chairs are the best for a night out with friends. Ingress/egress is so easy from the back seats! Looking at the interior dimensions, CT is a refreshed MX with a bed. I think that's why the CT back doors open 90 degrees. I'd have preferred a refreshed X as a full-sized SUV instead of a truck. But, I understand that's a smaller TAM than trucks. Anyway, enjoy your fully presenting doors!

Great video but I think it’s a shame there are so many ergonomic screw ups on this car. I much prefer my ioniq5. Conventional turn signals, mirror controls, horn, and a very intuitive and easy to use gear shifter that you don’t even have to look at to use. I suppose you could get used to the way Tesla did it, but it still is not good ergonomics no matter how you slice it. What the heck is wrong with Elon Musk that he wants to make all these normally simple things so difficult to use!? if he wants to take over the car world like he claims, he would do well to quit trying to reinvent the wheel on things that work well the way they are.

Honestly Dave, I am so surprised by how much the Model X still impresses you. I think it has too many drawback and inconveniences to be a leader anymore. The seating set up is totally impractical, the falcon doors are pointless and the design is looking dated. I'll give it six months before you get out of it once the "magic" wears off.

Trade the wife 😮, I once mentioned divorce and getting a couple of 30 year olds after 30 years of marriage.
