I was maltreated by mom in law in the Republic of Benin, and I was still a young girl when I had my kids for her son and till today, I can't just stop crying cos it still hurts, I worked hard but it was not enough, the slaps from the house to the market, the humiliation, they took my kids from me, my son will be 16 this year and my daughter 14, hmm mm I pray God gives me the heart to forgive her, but I still believe there are good mother in laws out there, I know one day I will love my daughter in law because she is not the cause of my problem, I always believe to let love always lead, I went to visit my kids and she was telling my aunt that, oh by now I know your daughter might have said so many bad things about me to you, and my auntie told her, on the contrary she keeps praying for you and my daughter has never said anything bad about you, I pray one day I will find someone I can take as my mom

All these complainers about their mums-in-laws, or their mums, meddling in their lives or having to move in with them, makes me so sad. My own mum was killed in an accident when I was only 19. She was only 57. I would have loved the chance to be able to visit her when I got married 10 years later, or have her at my wedding or to help me with my special needs son, or be there when I got divorced. But God decided to take her early. I still wish I knew why. I miss her so, so much.

Don’t push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don’t know if there’s a way out is dangerous and that’s why we have suicide cases.
