I love how cute Tayari is both when she players with little J and he husband. 😍 It is normal for primates to do various things to maintain their place in hierarchy. They use different gestures to signal to the others who is on the top.The dominant female gorilla will demand the attention of the silverback for that reason. Plus Tayari have been infatuated with D'jeeco from the very beginning. That does not mean that she hates her sister, or wants to harm her, or that she wants to prevent Iriki and D'jeeco from ever interacting. In this species a male has multiple female, and while the dominant female maintains the relationship of being the closest one to him, but she does not normally monopolise the access to him. Sometimes D'jeeco and Iriki sit together and Tayari just does her own thing. 🦍 我喜歡Tayari擁有小J和他的丈夫時多麼可愛。😍 靈長類動物做各種事情來維持自己在等級制度中的位置是正常的。 他們使用不同的手勢向其他處於頂峰的人發出信號。 再加上Tayari從一開始就迷上了D'jeeco。 這並不意味著她討厭她的姐姐 ，或者想傷害她，或者她不想阻止Iriki和D'jeeco進行互動。 在這個物種中，雄性有多個雌性，而優勢雌性保持著與他最親近的關係，但是她通常不會壟斷與他的聯繫。 有時D'jeeco和Iriki坐在一起，而Tayari只是做她自己的事情。 🦍

Love the commentary with the video. D’Jeeco and Iriki be thinking Tayari is cray-cray. Tayari only seems interested in Jabali when she wants to play or is bored. She’s so rough with him. Hopefully he learns from watching D’Jeeco on how to treat female gorillas rather than his crazy mother. And I believe that Iriki is only a month older than Tayari so Tayari really isn’t that young to be a mother. She’s just not very maternal (at least in what is shown to us).

Tay aged 10 years old, is doing it her way. Jabali is healthy, alert & thriving. She loves him and he loves her ❤️ Like us human Mums, Tay, who is a young but certainly unique young female, is learning on the job and making mistakes but also showing great enthusiasm for the role including playing with the baby. Tay....keep going and keep doing it your way 😘 Jabali is safe and in strong arms ( or leg 😘)

GLORY ANDY YOUR VIDEO WITH CAPTIONS IS AWESOME!!!❤I guess little Ringo was still in the oven at this time?? I guess this is why Silverbacks usually choose to mate with older females who are more experienced mothers.😂 I had never seen videos this far back of Tayari and baby J 😳 All I can say is thank goodness for the infant Moreaux reflex! She doesn't even try to carry him on her chest where she's supposed to, and he has to hang on for dear life as she drags him along the ground on her leg! Or she just pulls him along without picking him up!😱 And she plays with him with her feet while she lays on her back - highly unusual for a gorilla mom, that what naughty older siblings sometimes do and the mom corrects them! She's obviously exhibiting a lot of dysfunctional behaviors related to captivity (I've researched this through a lot of zoology journal articles) - sometimes animals in captivity do crazy things in order to cope, some examples are sexual aberrations,(she does some of that with Jabali later) aggression, self harm, copophagy, licking and eating non-food substances, etc. While Tay is smart, creative, fun to watch, and hilarious💃🏻 it's sad to see her with Jabali at this early age - he's ok now! And it's sad to see the way she has treated Iriki, the introverted girl.

Tayari just turned 10, she is from Apenual primate breeding program... This is her 1st baby, 6 mths old... The other female is her half sister Iriki who is due any day now... She's a real character for sure & loves the big fella DJ...😘✌️

Does she do the copophagy? Awe I hate to hear that, I somehow didn't notice. All this stuff is related to captivity, so I wish zoos would help these animals with this kind of stuff. If you keep a gorilla, why can't they have an animal psychologist when they're struggling so much psychologically ? 🥺 It's like there isn't a zoo where everything works - here the enclosure is lovely and the silverback is chill, the babies are now 3 years old and physically healthy. But those 2 females struggle with poor psychological health.

I found those scenes really disturbing as well. When baby's are that age mom's carry them ventrally - chest to chest for about the first half year and then start carrying them on their backs. But seeing little J being dragged along, hanging on to her leg for dear life, that could not have been easy for him. I've seen that happen with one other gorilla - Effie at the London Zoo, also a mother with "issues," but Effie doesn't have Tay's effervescent personality to go along with it. I'm glad that Jabali seems to be healthy and well now that he's bigger.

Tayari doesn't treat her baby carefully. She fails to hold him. One of these days she may cause injuries to him, poor baby. I feel so sorry for the baby, his mother doesn't look to be attached to him :(

She wasn’t the first yr or two. It was sad to watch. She treated him like a toy. He would beg to nurse. Most times she would cover her breasts. He would fall asleep on the floor. People thought the zoo should have stepped in. It had been a long time the zoo had a baby and people didn’t like her lack of interest in the baby. She was very young then. Too young to have a baby.Seems better now that he is older

AND, you only have to see the good shape of Momotaro and the kids. Momotaro has muscles strong like no other… he is very huge and strong.

不太懂 寶寶在市立動物園長大生活這麼久 把他送到荷蘭傳宗接代 雖然是好事 當初說為什麼不幫他找老婆來台灣 動物園說母的適應能力不好 長途跋涉距離會有危險 寶寶單身這麼久 結果找了迪亞哥做伴 結果寶寶被送走了 園方現在竟然找兩個老婆來台灣給迪亞哥 而且哪兩隻也是荷蘭送過來的 啊寶寶是.......而且寶寶是ㄧ個完全野生物種的血統 然後送給荷蘭了......不太懂木柵動物園的做法
