The wife was not like most women. Reports from neighbors say she looked depressed, would stand on the porch in the middle of the afternoon like she had just rolled out bed, shopping with the disabled son’s food stamps, living in a hoarder/dilapidated house. Im sure she felt terrible, embarrassed, alone. We can only imagine what types of abuse she endured.

Yeah one can tell by the way the family looks and dresses that the husband didn’t take care of them or care for them. He spent all his Manhattan money on himself. He could at least have paid for an assistance/nanny/cleaning services to help his wife and kids.

She probably wanted out of this situation a long time ago…but was afraid, didn’t have the strength, no other financial/emotional support. After listening to the daughter of the BTK killer…I’d say give the woman a chance. Her and those kids are going to be forever mentally affected by this.

Maybe there were signs, it finally clicked. I’m sure she was exposed to abuse herself. He seems like a bully. Keep in mind these girls were killed while she was out of town with the kids on holidays. That’s a proven fact. And so far we have no indication that anyone was killed in the house. I choose to show her some grace

In my opinion I think the reason she's divorcing him so quickly is not only because of what he's been accused of but I reckon she sensed something wasn't right for a very long time and his arrest just confirmed it, soul destroying to know that the person you've been with for 25 years would be capable of such atrocities and could anything be worse than being deceived by a loved one, very sad I feel desperetly sorry for her and the kids,

There are lots of reasons why women stay in bad marriages. This would have been a bad marriage. Maybe she was scared to leave. Maybe she had no money to leave. One child seems to have special needs. The other child was working for her father. Maybe they were dominated and dependent on him. Maybe now he is locked up and is never getting out, she feels safe to divorce him.

I believe there was no marriage here for a long time. She didn't pay attention to anything about him. They both did their own thing. There was probably no relationship or communication. Im just so happy she took off & not supporting him like some. Ohhh the insight of hindsight. Im sure she's now thinking about alot of strange things that she did notice, & pushed it aside. The BTK killer was a very religious man was a member of the boys scouts. He would tell his wife he was going to take the boys scouts on a meeting and this when he would kill members of his church and come back home. He got caught because he was sending E-Mail to the news media from the church computer. Most people don't believe members of their family have mental problems.

Maybe she suspected that at worst, he was having an affair, but when he was arrested, she finally put 2+2 together and that was it. She's out. That photo of her makes it appear that she's depressed, disheveled, disabled (walking with a cane) and has probably wanted out for years.

I think it is the latter. Disgust and not wanting to be associated with it. The police commissioner who broke the news to the family said the wife did not believe him at first. Only when he showed her photos (I don´t know what photos, but that´s what he said), she had to accept the fact.

Of course she saw red flags, but the brain doesn't automatically go from "red flag" to "serial killer." If anything, she might have suspected he was having affairs. Possibly she's been suspicious of him, maybe he has a violent temper, and she's been wanting to leave for years...now that he's in custody, she can leave without worrying that he'll go after her.

Probably glad he hid in the basement cause if he wasn’t around she or possibly even the kids weren’t getting abused. I was abused physically and mentally. He was a alcoholic, we had 3 children, believe me when I say I was happier when he stayed out all night. Which was quite often but I never thought of SK as a issue. I was pretty sure he was in a strip club somewhere, possibly even with someone else but Serial Killer would have never crossed my mind. You are concerned about yourself, your children and what he going to do to you when he comes home. You are concerned about many things SK isn’t one of them.

Look at Rex's brother Craig who is bigger than him and looks like a clone of Rex. Craig is on hundreds of acres in S.Carolina with dogs guarding it and most likely bodies that are missing are there. Both are guilty or it's all Craig.
