My favorite episodes of this podcast are the ones with Bert and/or the girls. I love the way they communicate with one another. Leeann is super sweet and so insightful. It's so refreshing to see a family come together and just talk to one another about how they feel and what they have been doing. I absolutely love it. I learn from it. My family wasn't like this growing up and now I have a niece that lives with me. So the episodes focused on family are not only entertaining but a learning experience for me. I've learned parenting skills, and how healthy relationships between children and parents should be.

I absolutely love watching you and Bert discuss topics. You are both very smart and very insightful. The problem is and always has been that Bert thinks less of himself. The man is funny and I respect him to death, but he assumes because Tom's fans say something, that it is the truth, that is just crazy. Love you Bert and I think your conversations with your wife are heart felt and kind of magical. I know when you where is Boston I asked to have a picture with your wife and you took the time to take it. A ( your wife is amazing) and B (you had a great time having her be the center of attention) Love both of you and thank you for being such a power couple! (I would attach photo if I could) This is a great couple and we need to respect them!

I just watched this podcast again. I just have to say what a love story you two have. I love the way you can communicate and support each other. Leeann listening to you talk about always feeling last was so relatable. I don’t know any mom who doesn’t feel that way. It’s emotionally exhausting being a mom. One thing I can say is how lucky you’re Bert is so in love with you. He’s definitely lucky that you love him and all his quirks. You’re a hell of a woman ♥️

Bert's preoccupation with ground beef being broken up enough and how onions are cut, just further support the idea that he has sensory issues (SPD) specifically. Mouth-feel can be triggering for some. And that's without considering the OCD.

I’m a former homeless kid with no father and little contact with my mother, and men like Bert helped me learn how to do things in the world. I understand how you feel, Leeann. My wedding is Oct. 24th and the entire process is ruined from COVID. Our shower is 8/22 and our incredibly small wedding is now even smaller bc over half of the invited guests aren’t coming. We can’t hug anyone, the idea of possibly wearing a face mask on my wedding day, and family not coming, is not what any bride dreams of. After being together for 8 years, been through it all, and truly best friends, our 40 person max wedding is a fraction of that, no plans are the same as they were 2 days ago, and we can’t book anything. But we are best friends, and true life partners and if I can be his wife for the rest of my life, I would rather have a great marriage than a perfect wedding. You’re 50th birthday will be perfect regardless of how you spend it, bc your family is healthy, safe and together. Blessings come in strange ways and I’m sure this will be no different. 😊

question, because I got into Bert from his standup and not TV shows, but now I have a job where I can listen to podcasts all day, so Bert and his crew, Tom, Bill, Joe, Whitney, Nikki etc, and their respecitve and combined podcasts are all I listen to for 8 hours a day, and I feel like your family is so personally known to me, do you guys think about that at all, how open you are about your life, how much you share with strangers, maybe even to the point of being almost too familar with your lives, is that even something you think about with all these conversations etc. I even find myself in my real life at times bringing things up in conversations like " oh yea, Bert has that same problem sometimes" as if we're like real friends, I know we're not, but it's probably impossible to not spend a few months listening to hours of these podcasts and not develop some sort of bond. does that even make sense? not trying to sound creepy, but it seems a little creepy to me. I'm not sure how I would handle strangers coming up to me and asking me how my daughters are or whatever. anyways, thanks for the mindless distraction from my life.

my comment will likely go unnoticed but i think bert struggles with binge eating disorder. theres so much shame around binge and not purge/restrict after, this is a revelation i had recently. I think this because bert talks about blacking out, feeling lack of control/comfort/approval regarding younger family life + relationships, impulse, eating when your body doesnt want to- "I want to want to eat a burger, but I dont want to eat a burger" mentality. Anyway I think thats whats happening, totally could be wrong + im no doctor, but its taken years of therapy to realize this is what I struggle with.
