Justin, I suggest both you review and react to "Manners/Black Hole", the official live video, if you haven't already done so. This is a twofer video that shows the diversity in the music. Also "Onset" an instrumental, really show their talent. I call Band Maid an pan rock genre band. They can play almost anything.

Yea this one is my favorite song of BAND-MAID it has everything. 👉 Akane: wicked drumming thru out the song. 👉 Kanami: insane guitar solo. 👉 Saiki / Miku: Vocal harmonizing. 👉 MISA: Bass breakdown. 👉 Breakdown section at the end. Overall a Masterpiece!

Its hectic, chaotic, & yet so melodic. Let alone Kanamis guitar in the solo, there is like 9 notes she plays, then each repitition she takes away a note AND KEEPS THE TIME! Amazing!

Been enjoying your growing appreciation of THE best Rock band in the galaxy so thought it was time to subscribe as I'm pretty sure you'll be checking out more of their extensive and basically flawless back catalogue. While they're always at their best live, their MV's are superb too. Not sure about the Blink 182 thing (mostly because I know nothing about them) but they certainly remind me of many great Rock bands I enjoyed through the 70's and 80's. There is one instrumental available - Onset - which is live and on their YT site.

Band-Maid has very strong pop-punk roots. Their whole first album (Maid in Japan) was pretty much a pop-punk album.

That 30s solo section is otherworldly but the entire song is an exercise in top-rate composition, arrangement, instrumentation, playing and performance. Since Rush, who else makes music this accessible and this high-end at the same time?

Justin's face with the unspoken response: 'No chance in hell I'm cutting that out' 😂🤘🏻 What a difference between 'Thrill' and 'Blooming', huh? This song is my secret weapon in the morning to get going when coffee doesn't work. :) That trio solo by Kanami, Akane and Misa that sends you over the edge of a cliff and the drop afterwards where Saiki and Miku catch you on a cloud with their voices just before you hit the ground, and the build-up afterwards are perhaps the best passage ever from the ladies for me. The whole song is just 🔥. Oh, and don't worry. I get B182 vibes on some of their (earlier) songs too. For me, Akane on drums is the deciding factor for that. A little duel between her and Travis Barker from B182 would be quite awesome, for sure. :) If you want to hear the different, more soulful side of the ladies (where for me Saiki shows off her true qualities) I recommend you 3 songs. 'Wonderland' (Live), 'Daydreaming' (MV) and 'About Us' (Live). This song KILLS ME... EVERYTIME!!! Love it!!! Interesting you hear Blink in Band-Maid (you're going to love "Choose Me" and "Alone", btw), as I hear, sometimes, a bit of Angels and Airwaves in the Maids. Angels is Tom DeLonge's current band, and they happen to be one of my other favs. If you haven't checked them out, you may want to. A couple of AVA suggestions "Euphoria", "Kiss and Tell", "Hallucinations". As for a slower Maid tune, "Daydreaming" and "About Us" (written for the fans during the pandemic) are both GORGEOUS. Thanks, and the maid costume is awesome! 🕊

First thing your wife looks very cute in the maid outfit. As far as blink182, they might have been influenced by them, but as you get further into their songs they evolve from year to year and I don't believe the older stuff sounds like the newer songs. But band are always growing.

If you're talking about BAND-MAID, that's not at all what happened (if you're talking about some other band, I'm totally clueless what you're referring to and would need you to elaborate). Miku (band founder, 2nd/sometimes lead vocals, rythm guitar, main lyricist after 2016) previously worked at two different maid cafes, and had an idea for a band that had a gap (visual dichotomy versus the sound) of pretty girls in maid outfits playing rock music. She found the other band members after getting approval from the label, so the maid idea existed before the band actually did. There's more details in the back story, but I'm not going to cover it here (as it has already been mentioned in other comments).
