There are few drummers who had his power; few drummers who had his technique; and few drummers who had his groove. Further, there may only be one other who was his equal in all three (Neil Peart). He inspired every rock musician (not simply drummers) who lived after 1968. A personal hero of mine since I was 13, and Rolling Stone’s number one rock and roll drummer of all time. I want to celebrate the life and career of the great John Henry Bonham, who tragically passed away 41 years ago tomorrow, ending the career of one of the most significant bands of all time. They were top 3 or 4, depending on who you ask, and number 1 in my book. Rest in Peace old friend. I am inspired by your music every single day of my life, and have been for over 30 years.

"Mickey's Monkey" was a tune by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. It was later covered by the Young Rascals, and eventually Mother's Finest. MF's version of the song does sound very much like LZ's "Custard Pie", but Physical Grafitti was released in 1975, while MF's version of "Mickey's Monkey" was released in 1977. So, the question remains, who "inspired" whom? Personally, I like to think Smokey inspired them all. 👍😏 kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5XUeqqqjr15a5Y

Led Zep NEVER made a song as filler. EVERY song on EVERY LZ album can stand on it's own. It's difficult to really say 1 LZ album is better than another. For many bands, their first 3 - sometimes 4 - albums are usually their strongest and best. IF a band makes it to their 5th or 6th album, it's usually dictated by the label and sounds generic. Jimmy said nope, not only is this gonna be strong, but its going to be a double album and we're going to run the gamut! To me, the only competition for great album of the 70s is both/either of Bob Seger's live albums, "Nine Tonight" and "Live Bullet"!
