Melody is definitely here to drop wisdom! No sugar coating!!! 💛💯

YES YES AND YES! The conversation about gender roles is so important especially for young African girls. You are not signing up to be someone's maid and you are not seeking a leader in marriage. Melody literally spoke to the way I think in that even in my relationship, I refuse to clean his place unless it's a team effort. My man is thankfully very self-sufficient and even when I visit him for extended periods, I wait and observe how he maintains his space and I follow accordingly. Even if he's been at work all day and I've been home, I do not give in to the temptation to clean his place unless I've made a mess myself. You certainly reap what you sow, thank you ladies.

Part 2 with Melody is definitely needed, this was good and we easily fall for these gender stereotypes that families and society put out for us. But at the end of it, it's the responsibility of the couple to determine their lifestyle and what rocks their boat Also @Buli I'm with you on the ironing part, I don't mind doing anything (within reason of course) mara ironing miss me on that fam. Ironing shirts for the week is exhausting and that extra one net for control in case they change their minds. Andizi

Well me and my hubby have not had that conversation of roles and responsibilities..we went with the flow and i can see now dat Lack of communication between us has build a lot of burden and moods swings...we wil both do things but at the end of it why couldnt the other person volunteered to do it maybe because of the one who has done it was exhausted or feeling busy and still felt obliged to do the duties

Hey fellow Mrs ! I hope i can soon / one day. I'm also still getting accustomed to having a new group of people that i get to call family. Hubby got to know my family more while we were dating, so its easy for him and im still getting there with his family so once things are good and settled im sure i will be able to add my two cents without looking like a hypocrite or not sympathizing with those who might now have it easy ( i hope you get me ! not that my in laws are tough.. they are really kind people ) .. thank you for watching Xx
@Thandi8995 жыл бұрын
@@BuliMakhubo I definitely get you. I've been married just about 5 months now. My inlaws are great people but it's still been an adjustment nonetheless. I would definitely would love to hear how others navigate through expections from them, trying to accomodate and sometimes even please them but still in a space that's comfortable and healthy for everyone involved. Will keep an eye out for when you finally upload that video, thanks😃
