When the Misses wants fish for dinner but after inspecting the freezer, you realise there's no fish, and that one of your main duties is to make sure there's always fish in the house...
Duane takes flight to local waters in search of some sashimi (Yellowfin Tuna) on the paddle ski, kayak. He runs into some good tuna and talks us through his techniques behind targeting these fish.

Cool clips! Massive respect! When can you do a rundown on the rods for tuna and natal snoek?
@ReelExcitement

Awesome brother thanks, I love the Assassin Duel Heavy for spinning, I catch both snoek and tuna on that rod. When trawling or pulling livebait the Leviathan X Heavy is my favourite because when you hook into those big tuna you need that back bone. In saying that, I really enjoy the Trevala Heavy, because of this same reason. When targeting snoek, yes, you can get lighter setups in all three rods but on the ski we're limited with space and I always like to be ready for that big tuna. If you're exclusively targeting snoek you can scale right down to light-meduim setups.

100% brother, with summer on our doorstep, the variety of big game are on their way😁🎣 cant wait! If you looking to come visit for a paddle I'd recommend the first two weeks of feb. Weathers nice and hot with the fishing in full swing, Queen Mackerel, Dorries and Tuna smashing bait balls all over our coastline. Tight lines Marc🎣👊

Awesome mate, when your trolling the down rig do you loop / tie a sinker on the mainline / leader knot with a rubber band ?
@ReelExcitement
@ReelExcitement 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Craig 💪🤙🎣 I always use an elastic band with a 4-8oz sinker about 5 meters up from my bait.

Awsome video!! How farr do you let out ur downrigged bait so it doesn't catch on the bottom? Been waiting for a new vid to long haha🙃
@ReelExcitement
@ReelExcitement 4 жыл бұрын
Awesome brother thanks! If you're worried about dragging your baits or sinker on the floor, it's sometimes easier and more effective to let it down to the bottom and then wind it up a few meters so you know for sure where you are in the water column. The faster you pull your baits the closer to the bottom you can leave them. The baits will climb higher up the water column the faster you go. Hopes this helps brother! Tight lines!

Im using the assassin seriola and shimano trevela heavy matched with 2 diawa saltist 40s. I do love my assassin leviathans for the big tuna though and usually pair the 40s with that.
