Would you please do a comparison between GWN Manager, GWN Cloud & GWN manager on an appliance?

Thanks. I forgot about the device membership too and was wondering why I couldn't re-enable 5GHz on a separate SSID even after rebooting.

I have installed Grandstream from their first release. I love GWN APP, so simple to setup AP's by scanning barcode. Simple, set and forget. Have not recommending another brand, I used to install, anymore.

I wonder why they didn't release an outdoor version to go along with this. I have a 7660 but I plan to upgrade to 7665

I just replaced 3 GWN7660 APs with GWN7665s. I didn't log any of the 7660 signal strength values prior to the upgrade, as I didn't expect that the 7665s would perform any differently (except for the addition of 6 GHz). But, for whatever reason, I know I'm seeing much higher signal readings on IoT devices, like Ring cameras. In the neighborhood of ~6 to 8 dB on the 2.4 GHz. band. I upgraded because the 5 GHz. band is very congested here, and my APs are in wireless mesh mode. Sometimes I'd experience disconnects. Now, the 7665s are using 6 GHz. for mesh, and I no longer have any problem with connection stability. The 7665s are a definite improvement over the 7660s.

Willie, any thoughts/anecdotes on roaming performance, cell sizing and AP placement, etc with multiple GWNs? Comparisons to UniFi APs?

For latency sensitive apps -- GWN APs are a great solution.

Hello. I was wondering if do you plan to test the newest GS GWN 7670 WIFI 7 AP. I saw IPhone Warehouse website selling this one even though this model isn't out on official Grandstream website yet. I was thinking of try those out. I haven't opened up this new TP-Link EAP 670 box since I bought it. I didn't see any firmware for this model.

For a home user that doesn’t need to change wifi settings remotely, would you recommend using the GWN Manager over GWN Cloud? Why?
@WillieHowe9 ай бұрын
I wouldn't recommend either if you don't need to remotely manage your AP.
@Wahinies9 ай бұрын
@@WillieHoweyeah the manager seems optional in this case which is a strong bonus. I like how all of the options are available in the AP whereas say in Omada EAPs the standalone interface lacks some options and UAPs lack a standalone UI entirely. This is why I arrived at the 7660 myself.

I don't understand why Grandstream isn't bigger and more widely available. They make good products
@user-sl4ul4nc3t7 ай бұрын
They dont have the best reputation on the voip side.... and their AP's dont exactly fall in a home user or enterprise role... somewhere kind of in the middle.... and lastly, people prefer atheros chipsets over the cheaper mediatek.. which really bothers a lot of people when comparing to unifi, aruba, etc. Personally, I own the 7664 and the 7630 and really like them, and switched to the gwns from unifi...

@@user-sl4ul4nc3t it's a real shame. I've been stress testing the APs I got from them and zero issues at all

I agree! I have purchased about 350 wifi aps through work for work, and none have ever failed or had a problem. They are solid! We just started deploying the managed switches, so far so good 👍

Great video - why is so hard for consumers to buy Grandstream products? I called them and they said they only have distributers that sell to retailers and they would get back to me but never did. It seems like they don't want to sell their products except through small distributers who usually sell to resellers who are in the phone system or specialty markets. CDW was the only "normal" place but they don't have the Grandstream GWN7665. Why do they not want consumer customers and home labbers? Anyone know where to buy the GWN7665 at a reasonable price?

GS is my #1 go to ap and ubiquity replacement. Yeah updating manually took me a while to figure that out. It would have been nice for GS let us know about this change. Do you think 6e will be thing? Considering 7 is close. Use Chromcast for your phone.
@Shamrock0139 ай бұрын
GWN Cloud is pretty nice if you don't mind having it hosted by GS. I think it looks better, is somewhat better organized, and allows automatic scheduled updates without specifying the necessary file.
@gibbykaro79499 ай бұрын
@@Shamrock013Yes, you are correct, but in early days of the cloud controller you were not able to update as easily you can now (on devices page in app) I manage over 130 customer sites so my update list is long. Some updates were a little hit or miss depending on product, so I found it easier to update manually and keep records of the update in early days when I brought them in to our product line. Now I have a pretty decent workflow for updating threw the cloud.
