Imagine an inventory slots and the items in it as 2 different things. Imagine the items as a box filled with that item ( an object instance in java ) Imagine your inventory slot like a rope connecting you that box Now when you take out the item out of an inventory from say a chest to your inventory, it happens in 2 steps: 1. You connect a rope to the box ( your inventory makes a reference/pointer to the stack object which contains the items ) 2. The rope from the original chest to the box is cut off What they essentially do it overload the game so much that step 2 is skipped, so now there are 2 ropes connected to that 1 box ( 2 references to the same object, which is fairly common )

To me the most interesting bug was the immortality glitch via lag machine. The fact that no one has recreated it implies that the glitch could still be out there. If you encounter a glitch that's one thing, if the glitch disappears and you can't recreate it, that means it's still around.

No joke, the first end portal I ever found (which I built in creative mode) spawned with this glitch (9:08). I assume I placed the frames like this by accident. Back then, I just ignored it since I didn't know end portal blocks were directional and it took me 10 minutes to get any kind of portal. It is one of the first things I remember doing in Minecraft (up there with building a dirt castle and accidentally blowing up my Creative Mode Cave Base). I was shocked when I realized I recreated this glitch without even knowing end portal frames were directional.
