There was nothing like it then or even now to compare it to . People were just into the music so much it was unbelievable. It was a sad day When Casino closed as it wasn’t voted the best club in the world for nothing . It was magical to be there .

I'm 54 - and we grew up in the north east of england - but would travel all over for the best clubs/sounds - bennetts (south bank), leeds (warehouse/B2B), manchester (hacienda), mansfield (renaissance), blackpool (shaboo), london (early ministry/love ranch/cafe de paris/gardening club/flying). The best days of my life !! Re. punk - once heard 'anarchy in the UK' as last record in a mid-90s house/rave club - it went totally ballistic !! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! I unfortunately didn't get to go to Wigan, had to make do with youth club discos and events around your town So when I look at these videos I envy all that is there. One thing for sure I was round the first time when all this was out,and soooooo proud to say I'm a n.s.fan.

Well David. Am 60 and used to travel from Scotland to wigan back in the day. Now days I travel from Scotland to wigan empire allnighter. Blackpool tower . Etc usually twice a month . Went through over 100cars in my time following northernsoul keep safe through this epidemic and hopefully you will get to a big weekender. I know 3 people who went to Wigan Casino One is my brother he went there at the start of it 1973 another is a good mate who lives in Exeter these days who went mid 70s another is one of my cousins who went there late 70s up till its closure in 1981 they also went to Blackpool Manchester and the Navada in Bolton Two of them also managed to go to the Wigan Pier club All 3 are still alive and still love Northern Soul to this day

Is it me or are they in the order of how capable you are to dance to them. 1. Dean Parrish - Full of Energy to do High Kicks, Back Drops and Ground Work. 2. Tobi Legend - A little less Energy so Spinning takes over. 3. Jimmy Radcliffe - Old and Knackered I love this tempo, anything faster and I sweat just listening to it. 😂
