Pure joy watching these people dancing. Wish I'd been there

I used to travel from Wells in Somerset with Lynn, Jenny, Rob and Slasher in my car at least once a month. Sometimes a mini bus with others who wanted to come. What great memories and what great friends I made over the years. "It'll Never Be Over For Me". Keep the faith.

What an articulate and well informed ambassador Dave Whiters was in this documentary, a cracking DJ later on too.

I wish was old enough to be there, I learned about NS after I had found great NS stuff by chance - I didn't know what it was, loved soul/motown, but this was different, then searched for the sound, and then my BFF advised me... I was a NS fanatic. Love it. KTF guys

I was there on the balcony watching the filming taking place it was like a sauna, after travelling nearly 130 miles to get there, this was a night to remember, and finally watching some months later on itv, knowing the secret world of northern was no more!

I used to go to the all-nighters at the Wirrina Stadium in Peterborough back then. That was about as far south and east as Northern Soul reached in those days.

From this young Yank’s perspective: So they could’ve chosen any music to dance all night to and they chose obscure ‘60s soul records that noone’s heard of? Very strange. I can’t understand a word the old guy in the tie is saying. The laundry lady is lovely.

if you listen to enough Brit talk, then it becomes second nature. it was easy for someone like me: American raised on PBS having a lot of British programs.

Yeah, and as you recall, we, the Casino Club regulars we were polled on if we wanted the cameras in or not, whatever the out come they came anyway, the night was shite, lights on, cameras barging into every fucker, you can see the general groundswell of opinion by the reaction of the queue outside, to me it was the beginning of the blatant commercialisation of the scene,,

i'm american but i lived in manchester fer 2 1/2 years. this does not look like the sorda thang i would've been into but i must say you got that many english in an enclosed space at one time and not a single fight breaks out that alone qualifies it as a success.

It makes me so angry that they demolished The Casino! IO mean LOOK AT THE MONEY that rolled into the area it was MASSIVELY popular. They should have close the Casino and REFURBISHED it and modernised it for the fans. It was a historic venue that town planners foolishly destroyed. Thats taken away Wigan's only attraction for people to go to the place. STUPID. We used to travel up from LIncoln and later from Oxford just to get to the all nighters. It was the FLAGSHIP Northern Soul venue and it was stolen from us. The young people in this film tell it as it is - now its all gone. WHY dont they build a NEW dancehall - A NEW CASINO? Im too old now but the younger generation are dicsovering the magic that was NS. KEEP THE FAITH FOREVER. Never stop dancing.

There was a documentary recently with a BBC reporter who found her and interviewed her. Loved seeing her now as I was too young when Casino was open. Would like to see more of where these dancers are now.

no mention of amphetamines, but it was known that some patrons used them (both the Mods and the Soulies). that must have attributed to the closing of those clubs.
