Enjoyed this Andrew. Went to the Feast at the Mills last week - really good and the Manager came over and talked us through the plans for all the mills behind it, and plans for a 2,000 seater theatre / events venue behind (maybe an extension of The Edge). Good to see investment in the town!

The council should rebuild Wigan Casino, the greatest asset that the town ever had. Dunno if there is a good live venue in Wigan these days, but the home of Northern Soul would bring a lot of folk to Wigan as a live venue and club. I used to go the jazz funk dayers at Wigan Pier and Cassanelli's also

There are a few buildings in King street that could be a venue for Wigan Casino, that would be an amazing idea!

I worked at the ABC cinema up to its closure in 1983. The town is pitiful now. Ruined since the closure of the old market hall, and the building of the Galleries. Looks like they have run out of money for completing the 'new' market, nothing has been done in weeks.

Tha's not a proper Wigganer lad, that is not Wigan pier. the pier was an elevated section of the Wigan to Southport line - locally known as the gant (gantry) it is muted that a train was delayed out of Wallgate and someone said where the hell are we - George Formby Perpetuated the myth and so Wigan pier was born !
