The Architects of that era were great visionaries since the structures still look beautiful and relevant. Watching your videos proves that walking cannot be substituted. Thank you.

Yeah I totally agree about the architecture. The contrast between just the 19th century and 20th century buildings (when it all went downhill) is mind blowing to me!

Been to the one of the stations changing trains but never ventured into town myself. Thanks to an urban explorer like you I realise about my mistake. Wigan is go breathtaking architecture. Wigan is another little known, sometimes even maligned, yet awesome UK town. Absolutely stunning buildings and pavements looking polished under the summer sun. Thank you very much
@4KExplorer3 жыл бұрын
Very well put! When most people think of Wigan they probably just think of loud pie-eating northerners. Which is totally... true, but the town itself was a pleasant surprise to me!

@@4KExplorer I'm originally from near Wigan, although not lived there for many years. I appreciate it was just a short-ish walk around, but you did miss a great deal. There are several Victorian arcades on Standishgate, which still look awesome, one in particular called the Mackinson Arcade. The much newer Grand Arcade was also worth a look. If you had turned down Wallgate, there are some fine old building down there. At the bottom of King's Street there is an amazing place called The History Shop which does exhibitions about Wigan and has a beautiful old library. If you'd carried further on at the end you would have got to Mesnes Park, which is really nice and is surrounded by some nice leafy roads.

Wigan has been around since Roman times known as Coccium.. Also we have the honour knowing that we are the only town to have both the Rugby challenge cup and the FA cup winners in the same year..🙂

The UK is one of the best countries to live, that's for sure. The question after the Brexit is how complicated it is to be part of this wonderful country ?

@@buzzybeepopman2009 Good to hear. You live in a country with some economic and diplomatic difficulties to deal with, but the most important point in my opinion is the legacy of the ancient peoples that has to be cherished and protected.

Come over on a dinghy, you'll get a hotel room, welfare payments, free NHS, free dentist, free opticians, free travel by bus and coach, and free entrance to historical sites owned by British Heritage. If you're American or Canadian and have a job lined up in the UK then the government will make it very hard for you to come here, for some reason
