I loved this video. I like knowing a little more about you bc I didn’t know why you started wearing wigs & I like that you try to normalize wigs. I purchased a wig a long time ago & that’s the only time I’ve ever gotten compliments on my hair bc I have thin fine hair, which is now thinner! But I only wore it 4-5 times bc I felt everyone was staring at me. I’m ready to buy a wig now & you’re helping a lot. I would love to see a pic of your surroundings & landscape when you move, just to give us a glimpse of the Netherlands.

I saw the Part 2 video first and had to find the Part 1. You are so right about the education process with wigs. When I lost my hair to chemo it took a long time to figure out the wig thing. There aren't many wig places to go in person even though I live in a city. The ladies on KZbin were so helpful educating me and I laughed when you said you watched videos all day! That is exactly what I did! My hair is growing back now and I am no longer spending the money to color it. It has been over a year since I've had a haircut and just went for a shape up and it is so expensive! I'd rather spend the money on a wig and don't have to spend my time styling it and it won't ever look as good as a wig. Nor would I pay for the highlights! Once I got my confidence wearing my wig and not caring if people were looking at me, it was fine. I am trying to keep my hair short kind of like what your bio hair looks like so it makes it easier to wear a wig. And if i want to wear my bio hair, then I can! I haven't worn a wig in several months now, though but getting the itch to buy a new one. I found them too hot to wear in the summer and I work at home so I went with my bio hair which still has some chemo curls to it. Makes it easy in the morning to just spray some water on it to revive the curls and I'm good for the day! Thanks for sharing your life with us and why you love wigs! I don't know what I would have done without all the wig ladies on KZbin! And the videos keep getting better and better with drilling down to the details of brands and their sizing, colors, etc. I hope you enjoy your new adventure in the city. I understand what you are saying and also love being more in the city to be close to events and social interaction.

Hello! I just discovered your video and still have a lot to learn about the world of wigs. I look forward to watching you and I know your wonderful personality will be a great help to me in the days ahead. I'm getting better excepting my hair loss from medication, but some days are still difficult. So glad you shared your upcoming move and I wish you and your husband all the best!

Thank you, Mel. It's nice of you to share a little more with us. Sometimes we aren't comfortable talking about ourselves much. I have long hair that ranges from waist to butt, depending on how much I trimmed it! It's average thickness now and I wear wigs only because they're fun and I can have different colors and lengths and still have my own hair too. Today's wigs are so realistic and I don't even know I'm wearing one after a few minutes. They are amazing. I'm delighted to come along and see the city! I live in the country and don't venture out much these days, so it will be exciting! Peace and happiness! 💕💕💕

Glad to see you’re feeling better, Mel. How exciting to hear about your move to the city. I’m very happy for you both. And we’ll get to sometimes travel about the city with you. What a great way to organize wigs. Much better than keeping them in their boxes, although, when it comes to parting with some of my wigs, I like to offer the new owner the wig in its original box with tags. That’s a nice studio you have, but the new apt. sounds fabulous! I can’t thank you enough for all your wonderful videos, which have helped me gain so much confidence wearing my wigs. This past week, I actually wore a different wig each time I dined out or got together with friends. My close friends love my wigs and are always wondering what new style I’ll be wearing the next time we get together. All thanks to you! 💕👱♀️

I sure have missed you. I am a subscriber and we are the same age. I wore one of my wigs on my walk the other day and it felt pretty good. I am recovering from cervical spine surgery and it is a slow process and hard to move my head and neck. Couldn't wear my newest wig. I have since put it on and trimmed the bangs. I'm excited to hear more about your move!

Being Dutch myself I can tell you, our language is the hardest to learn, so don't feel bad about not picking up the language as fast as you would like. I watch so many of your video's, thank you for educating us. I often feel insecure about wearing wigs in my country, as it is not talked about at all. I totally relate to what you say about our weather. I still have hair, but it is thin after a lot of shedding. Now it is beginning to feel a bit better, but indeed the wind, the rain and gone is that little bit of volume. You are so right about what you say about wearing alternative hair and other products we use. That is exactly what I say, my eyelashes are tiny, but it is a no brainer for everyone that I wear mascara, but when you say you are wearing a wig, they ask wether you are sick. So thank you so so much for your words, for spreading awareness. Good luck in your new apartment and I hope you will enjoy city life!

What a great idea how you store your wigs! I started out wearing wigs (age 33) because of my hair thinning and then started wearing toppers but now my hair in the front is so thin that the toppers just don't work. Now I'm back to wigs (age 65). Also I stopped coloring my hair, hoping that would help with new hair growth but sadly it hasn't. Now I have white hair (like yours) and would like to find wigs that are similar in color. I am so glad to have found your videos because they are so helpful for me. I'm happy that you are feeling better and getting to know the Netherlands from you too.

@@hangingoutwithnanajacobson7582 I too have difficulty finding white or grey wigs that are natural looking. That's why I love Mel's videos because she shows so many different styles, colors and how to help with your bio hair showing around your wig. White hair looks like a neon sign if its peeking out from the sides of your wig! lol
