I love this series.The script acted out is so fluid: it flows so well, like a waltz. The script is smart too. I feel like I can relate to Jan because she is passionate about career, and makes it known. She's also interested in men, but doesn't make being with one her priority. She is strong enough to put a man in his place when he makes absurd advances on her. I simply love this series.

I find it very interesting in the first series about Jan, one would believe that Jan was more insecure than Vanessa. However, in this series its clear to see that Vanessa tends to be a bit more insecure than Jan. It's interesting to see Vanessa stumbling through these dates and Jan being witty and confident in her approach. Anyone else that?

Good observation! He definitely looks like him, so I googled him and saw pictures of them together, and it was at the premiere of Jon Avnet's "Have a Little Faith" which starred Laurence Fishburne. I bet that may be where Lanston Fishburne made his initial connection with Wigs.

She definitely did not lose that battle. Vanessa did come later and finish him off with the slap you said he deserved. The main reason she won is because she did not give in to him and go home with him. She just has her own style of doing things. But she got the job done.

I kind of liked Paco in the last episode for Jan, he seemed nice but then there's the possibility of him slipping back into his old life. I liked the Ballet dancer in this episode too. Although there is part of me that thinks the guy with Jan in this episode would go well with Vanessa, haha.

Not at all. There was nothing low self-esteem about Jan's reaction to this ass. She understood exactly where he was coming from with all his innuendoes and double entendres and simply did not buy into it, nor allow him to manipulate her. I commend her for the way she handled him and I think it takes a person with a healthy self esteem to do so.

The low hanging fruit dude seems to be the V&J version of Al from the Christine series, the one that likes older women that Christine said she hoped would end up alone. In both these series, they were resisted by the protagonists, but in real life probably catch their all too willing prey quite regularly. Speaking of all too willing, if he plays his cards right, he probably has a good chance with Vanessa, but not for a menage-a-trois, at least not with Jan (and yes, I did see the trailer.)

But I sort of draw the line at actually dating them. She already went through and is continuing to go through the Robbie saga. All of the men seem to be different aspects of the same person. As if one person is wearing a different cloak. They speak with similar cadence, with similar reluctance and similar impatience. I wonder if it is intentional in the writing. It makes me feel as if I am watching Christine in a role reversal. Jan and Vanessa almost seem peripheral.

Naw! If I were Jan, I would be very wary of an ex-gang banger. I like it that he seems committed to changing his ways and is helping other bangers to see the light, but that sort of association means that he isn't entirely out of that world. Bangers, notoriously are misogynistic, so even if he is reforming, those tendencies will usually surface before long in a relationship. I don't see Jan as anyone's bitch, and he's had too much exposure to degraded talk, rap music, images, etc.
