im gonna be honest the shop theme is so iconic and its such a good bossa nova track but just with very nintendo-like jp-dtm instrumentation; very digitally produced sounding but it doesnt sound cheap yknow (unlike for example some garageband project. which would also sound very digitally produced but it sounds cheap because it is cheap). theres a reason why its so popular because its catchy, jazzy, and its really just nice to listen to and well composed so i really admire the work of the composer kazumi totaka (honestly many jp composers and producers when it comes to video games and instrumental tracks are just something else). however this banner theme has a special place in my heart. although its just 2 chords (4 if u count specific things) theres like such an ethereal feeling to this. although it was a really amazing and smart idea to make the shop theme bossa nova because it matches so much, this just feels so wii and it matches so well with the soft and smooth sound design of all of the wii menu sounds and stuff. maybe im yapping but it just feels good to listen to this. im pretty sure kazumi did this banner theme too so i love him once again. idk if i sound prestigious abt music from the pov of someone reading this but my point was that although the shop theme is really good and iconic this banner theme just kinda hits different and closer to home
