This is the final 5 minutes of the Wii Shop. The channel still works, and as of now you can still download anything you've already purchased. Virtual Console and Wii Ware titles are no longer listed. The only thing that appears under "Wii Ware" is 3 channels.

I didn't even know. I was at cousin's house. I was bored and stuff. Then out of curiosity I started to search my cousin's drawers and found a Wii console! I started to set everything up with the help of my dad. Then I started the Wii up. Aaaaaaah, the nostalgic main theme of the Wii. So relaxing. I realized I had no games downloaded, so I pointed the hand at the Wii Shop Channel and chose Start. The blue ring meaning that it's loading hyped me up. After all the waiting, I saw the news but didn't read them, because...well I didn't care. I wanted them spicy games. My cousin has saved up A LOT of Wii Points. Of course, I had to ask him if I can use them, and he said yes! But when I tried searching for "Sonic the Hedgehog", for some reason it didn't find them. I typed Mario because I knew at least one Mario game had to be in the Shop. It found nothing. Then I searched the Internet for help and found this video. I don't how the fuck I missed the news about the Wii Shop Channel closing.

I remember receiving my White Wii Deluxe with a GameCube built in and coming with Wii Sports as Nintendo's first ever Wii game. Was it not only my first introduction to Nintendo but to video games in general. I grew up with Nintendo. I grew up playing Nintendo. I had so many great times and so many fond, memorable and treasurable memories that I will FOREVER treasure. I remember kicking my parents asses in Mario Kart Wii and beating them in Wii Sports Bowling/Tennis/Boxing/Golfing/Baseball. And also all the sports in Wii Sports Resort. I will never forget my times with the Nintendo Wii. You will forever be Miissed. Wii will always love you, Wii. R.I.P.😢😭💔

The Wii brings back so many memories. I didn’t even have Wii Connect- so I was playing on my own or with family. I remember making the silliest miis, the music- chef’s kiss. I remember the countless hours spent on Wii Sports Resort, randomly flinging and flailing the remote around to try and hit my target. And Wii fit… telling me I was obese. Man, I remember killing my self with the yoga- freaking out because I couldn’t do a shoulder stand XD Then, just for all of it to be thrown away. My Wii started glitching, showing the dreaded black screen error. The CHILLS I GOT- it brings tears to my eyes with all the happy memories. I wish it hadn’t broken, but I guess I can be thankful for all the time I spent. Thank you Nintendo. For your amazing consoles and awesome games. :,)

I didn’t know that the shop channel was closed until after I found out that Netflix on my Wii stopped working. I never downloaded any Wii ware or virtual console games because by time I starting playing my Wii it was already too late for me to get far enough into it for me to find them. 😢
