This song makes me think of all the childhood memories we had on our family wii. The disc drive died, and we have Mario kart wii data from like 2009. Lots of shovel-ware. I remember almost being stupid and throwing my wii into a pool, but i'm so glad I didn't.

It's too bad the disc drive died. My original white Wii wasn't usable anymore and I ended up getting a newer Black Wii. This was a few years ago, my Wii probally has a few years left. Either way you must have had a blast with the Wii, I don't remember using the Everybody Votes, Check Mii Out Channel, News Channel, Forcast Channel, or any other public areas, I'll be getting RiiConnect24 soon but I'm glad you had fun with the Wii as a child. I probably didn't use it as much as you, but I'm glad you had all those memories.

I remember watching the little Pikmin carrying our boxes of Wii data and running across the screen to this back in 2015. We kept the poor Nintendo operator on the phone through her lunch break, but we were so excited to finally be able to play our Wii games again, after our disc reader unexpectedly stopped working in our well-kept Wii one day. Nintendo Customer Support is quite literally underrated as hell! wait times are quite nonexistent (for legacy consoles at least where I live) the helper is always nice and they never give up on you! You can usually buy a used one but you'll have no idea how long the previous owner had it for. There are some unboxed ones out there but those are very expensive. If you have a PC, it takes some configuring but you can use the Wii on a PC using Dolphin. I believe there's also an app, but if you have the money and don't have any pull backs I would recommend buying a Wii. If you buy a Wii or use Dolphin I would recommend checking out some of the games Nintendo made when they first released the Wii such as Wii Party and Wii Fit Plus (need a balance board also with WF+).

I know this is kind of unrelated to the song, but if when you get a Wii U and you want to keep the data on your Wii but still transfer it (the data gets deleted from the original Wii when transferring) you can homebrew your Wii and make a backup with BootMii. Then when everything's transferred over, you can homebrew the Wii again and restore from that backup.
