I don’t know why this this console failed, Nintendo. This was so cool! And my friend still has a Wii U! I sometimes visit him and we play games on it. It has a great library of games, and the best part of it is that you can play Wii games on it. Great job, Nintendo!

It failed because of the horrible advertising, and its name. The advertisements made people think it's just aimed at children, and the name made people confused as to what it actually is. Many people thought it was just an unnecessary add-on controller for the Wii.

It's a shame that the Wii U never really took off. It had plenty of potential with the GamePad, but since it lacked 3rd party support, had lower specs compared to PS4 and Xbox One, and terrible marketing (no one knew if it was a new console or a Wii add on) it failed. Not to say that it sucks (I own one), but it could've done a lot better. It's not a bad console at all, but it just doesn't match up to its competitors. ☹️

I have a Wii U gamepad, and it has all the features previously described. As far as I know, most of the games use the gamepad for some kind of feature.Even 3rd parties use the gamepad for their games. To be honest, the gamepad is awesome. I would say is more than which is described on the video. :)

This and other wii u commercials are why the wii u did poorly, especially the third party support. The commercials make it look that the Wii u is targeted for a kids and family audience. Nintendo really needed better marketing, i mean that the Switch commercial did a really good job, it looks like something for everyone. I love the Wii U and it's exclusives, but it really needed better marketing in those days.

Greenguy4301 it's making them a profit, i wouldn't say it's doing "fine". A console needs to sell competitively with the competition or else the product because obsolete, especially if there's only three main competitors. In nintendo's case they have the name to keep them alive, but if this were any other company they wouldn't be able to make a next console. Also, it's not good when your system isn't selling as good as it's predecessor, makes investors feel nervous.

You should get a Wii U. It's a great system. You can play some games without the TV on. They say the sales are poor at first, but in the future, it'll be a hot seller! The 3DS went through the same phase of poor sales at launch, but look where's it's at now.
