Despite all the hate towards her, she's actually a good character. Maybe she doesn't fit into the LoZ world perfectly because she is overly animated or too happy and strikes a pose. It just means her character archetype is that of a fun loving person and I don't see anything wrong with that. We have never had a character quite like this and I'm excited to see what she can do.

In case you're wondering, because I know how the modern day gamer doesn't like to do their homework, the reason the enemies aren't attacking as much is because the game was set on the lowest difficulty so that they could show off her and the others without any problems. On the higher difficulties the mobs become very aggressive.

It really sickens me how people are bashing on a good game like Hyrule Warriors for two reasons: 1: It's a Dynasty Warrior game with Zelda characters - well in my opinion I love the Dynasty Warriors series (Along with Samurai Warriors off course) it's one of the greatest experience in video games where you can take like hundreds of enemies that surrounded you with a couple of swings off your sword to take them all out like swatting a fly, almost making you feel like an actual god of war for a change (more than Kratos). I really don't see how people keep on 'disliking' such a popular hack and slash series despite how badass and awesome the franchise is, is it because it is the 'same thing' every time? I may not have played every single entry in the series yet but so far I'm enjoying the series and never got bored of it. Nintendo wanted to do something different for a change and also this is the best opportunity to play as different Zelda characters other than Link for a change. 2: This character; Lana - ok I admit before the roster with Zelda, Impa and Midna showed up; only two other characters aside from Link already showed up and that is the two villains of the game that are completely new and original. At first I was worried; I was like "Good lord don't tell me there gonna hog most of the playable roster with original characters instead of bringing back some Zelda characters that haven't been in a game for a really long time" but after seeing Zelda, Impa and Midna announced along with Lana I decided to be okay with it because they are brining other Zelda characters we all know and love. Lana is only here for Hyrule Warriors as an exclusive character to the game; she is made for Hyrule Warriors only but yet there are people bitching about her being for not being part of the original Zelda series. It's like they don't get the concept of "Spin-Off" and "Alternative Universe" these days.

I actually think she is a version of Nayru. Think about it: Signature color - blue Blue-colored gems on her outfit - possible sapphires? Magic - Zelda also possesses it being the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom/Seventh Sage from Ocarina of Time If you look close on her cape it shows phases of the moon (links to water - Zora's Sapphire) Even the name sounds similar to Lanayru - Nayru - Goddess of Wisdom

The third oracle _did_ exist, though. Farore was present when you used a Game Boy link cable to transfer data between the two games. Seriously, Lana looks way too out-of-place to be a manifestation of Nayru. She's just an OC made by Team Ninja created for Hyrule Warriors, nothing more. Don't look to deep into it. If they were going to include a manifestation of Nayru, they would have simply included the oracle herself.

Group manager at EAD Nintendo Aonuma Eiji already said Hyrule warriors is an alternate universe that is connected to many zelda games in the main timeline. How could you possibly say she isnt part of the universe when you have zero involvement with the development of the franchise. What every time nintendo introduces a new character to zelda you are going to point the finger at them and call them the odd one out? How would they ever establish new key characters? If Aonuma says this game is a part of the zelda multi-verse then it and the key characters inside it are as well. The point of this character is that she has something to offer the universe in addition to a different play style.

Why do people always hate on a new character that we hardly know? Seriously...its been this way for a long time. Rosalina first got hated on in SMG because she was a "Peach clone," Sticks from Sonic Boom because she's "crazy and pychotic", Team Flare from Pokemon X & Y because they looked like "Team Magma rip-offs," Ravio and Hilda from A Link Between Worlds because Hilda was just a "Zelda reskin" and Ravio was just a "pointless hobo", Taranza from Kirby Triple Deluxe for the exact same reason for Rosalina and the others I mentioned, he looks like a "Magolor clone," I could go on! Yet all these characters played a huge role in a story in the games they were in (not too sure about Sticks yet.) But really, don't judge a character new in the game unless they play a huge role in it.

Quick rant: LANA IS BASED ON THE GODDESS NAYRU. The name originates from the region in Twilight Princess called Lanayru. If you didn't notice Lana is blue and her tome has Nayru's symbol. It's super obvious guys and you shouldn't be saying this is a bad character. We'll probably get characters based of Din and Farore as well. Like Maybe there will be a character named based off Eldin or Faron. It's not hard to make these connections. Just suck it up and be mature about this. Kevin Jimenez I have to say Mr. Jimenez, in this day and age of how people on the internet just go straight to cussing people out and bad mouthing others just because they disagree, it is rather refreshing to find individuals such as yourself. As you said, Hyrule Warriors was no doubt the second most flooded game at Nintendo's booth after smash, and for good reason. I've played all the DW-Type games that have come out, and I can say that this game feels like it is bringing something new to the genre and I can't wait to get my hands on it. My only concern though is how there are others that just look at the game and quickly come to the conclusion that "It is Dynasty Warriors! It is going to be terrible!" without actually giving it a chance.

I like how TK is actually adding some originality to this game. I think they're doing a good job of balancing bringing back old characters for Zelda fans, and also introducing some new characters to bring some originality to the story and world. I also question how some say Lana doesn't look like a Zelda character. Really? She looks like the human incarnation of puzzle solving in dungeons in Zelda since there won't be any of that in this game. I can see why people might think she is out of place because she seems very Anime-ish but I think that's what they are aiming for. I mean if you think about it Link specializes in 1 to 1 combat unlike in this game where he mows down many enemies with 1 attack. I feel like they made her to make sure that people don't try to mesh this in with the other Zelda games. I think they are going more towards a Dynasty Warrior game with a Zelda skin than a Zelda game with Dynasty Warrior gameplay.

I'm just wondering if there actually will be voice acting of any kind in the game. The Zelda series hasn't been known for using actual speaking words in their dialogue (other than the lovely gibberish talk and gasps), but I would agree that it would be a rather interesting change of pace if the characters did actually talk. Not to mention that it is already established that the Fairy would still speak on Link's behalf, so he would still be the silent protagonist.

I was referring to the noises each character makes when they attack and whatnot, which are from actual people, but it would be interesting to see that, although they already confirmed the lack of full on voice-acting dialogue. Maybe in a more cinematic Zelda...

Grand Flyer Actually, in Japan, Pink comes in three forms: momo-iro (peach color), sakura-iro (cherry blossom color), and "pinku" (katakana loan word; a reference to girly stuff and/or xxx). [Wikipedia] Pink does not mean death... unless that's a joke... in which case, I agree entirely. Blue Gender was clearly a metaphor...

Her attacks involving summoning what appear to be blocks of magic reminds me of the 'Cane of Somaria' from the 2D Zelda games. Perhaps there is a connection between her book and that cane?

It's a huge contrast in a game like Zelda where most badass characters are female, but again we have this lady with her bugs so the door is open... aha.

At first I thought Lana was a weird character, and the whole sorcery thing seemed a little out of place for a Zelda game, but those spells really do look like stuff that would exist in Zeldaverse, and I'm happy about that.

You know, based on her name, she could be some kind of guardian or sage of the Lanayru province? Like how the sages of Ocarina of Time were named after the towns in Zelda 2, the Adventure of Link.
