That's the charm of Nintendo. Their games are fun even when you get older. I liked pikmin when I was 14 years old, now I'm 22 and it's still my favourite game ever made. And I know there are lots of fathers out there that can't wait for their children to get old enough to play mario kart against.

Coming back after all these years, especially after the pikmin 4 release, hits hard. I remember being 5-7 and seeing this game on the eshop. Then Christmas rolled around, and my parents got me the olimar amiibo, the pikmin figures, and finally, pikmin 3. I remember playing the demo of that game for days, so when I finally got it, I was ecstatic, not to mention me and my brother got kindles. That game held and still holds so many memories for me, it was my first nintendo console after all. And then hey pikmin, which I loved dearly. I'm 15 now, wanting to go to MIT, and life sucks, I'd give anything to go back and just play on my wiiu again, be actually good at all of those games. I wanna make sure the wooly yoshi amiibos we got didn't get chewed by my dog, that the pikmin figures didn't get broken, that the amiibo, and everything my parents bought which probably cost so much, I wish I could save all of it. But something that pikmins taught me, is that you make mistakes, you lose all of your pikmin, you die to the boss, you get terrified of the cave with that bat, you panic as the clock goes down and you can't find that one missing pikmin, because every pikmin counts. I'll always keep those memories close no matter how hard life gets, and even I nintendo makes and does stupid greedy decisions, ill always have these memories. Thank you pikmin, thank you, wii u, no matter what anyone says, you were and will always be the best console. -E

I do agree the Wind Waker did not need a remake, although the idea does tickle my fancy. All Wind Waker needed (and still needs) is a Virtual Console release. If we can assume that the cycle for the VC continues to keep up with the generations of consoles as it has been, it should be a no-brainer. Nintendo hasn't seemed to interested in that however, leaving many of us flustered. And about remaking the old 2D Zeldas, I'm not sure I agree. It could be amazing, but also almost wrong.

The old games are almost like a different genre to the extent that their game-play style is completely different, yet not outdated. Before I go on for too long, I will just end by saying yes, the old games are due for remakes of the same 2D style with much improved graphics and more meat added in. I wouldn't necessarily want them in 3D like Ocarina of Time because that wasn't how they were intended. Hell, new 2D Zeldas are made to this day, though they are only truly 2D in mechanics!

You could have taken about sixty seconds to go on Wikipedia and find out that the Wii was actually sold at a wide profit margin. You could have also taken 15 seconds to look up the definition of the word "literal." In title sales alone the Wii grossed about $100,000,000 more than Xbox 360 or PS3. Because of the comparatively minor amount of third party content to which that figure is attributed, Nintendo got to keep a lot more from sales than Sony or Microsoft.

Yeah, although PC and Wii U are the way to go 8th gen. PS4 and XB1 both look pretty much the same right now, but don't offer enough that Wii U or PC can't do.. if anything. That's my opinion on the matter as of right now anyways.

Y'know, even since back in the day, Nintendo has always had a "gimmick" controller. The Atari's had Joysticks, but the NES got a D-pad. A new thing. The SNES had shoulder buttons, the N64 had an analog stick... I'd rather have an obscure controller than not one at all *coughkinect*

I'd buy Super Mario 3D World. It seems similar to Galaxy to me. I'd prefer a Mario 64-style game though. I've never played Wind Waker, so I'm going to play it on the Wii U version. Those aren't the only games people are interested in anyway, you forgot DKCR: TB and W101. Those look like fun. Plus, even if Wii U completely failed by the end of the generation, they still have 3DS which is one of the top-selling handhelds of all time. Wii U's flew off the shelves for Pikmin 3, why not for others?

Hold on... If you subtract the letters in "Wii U" from Pikmin Snap you get PKMN Snap. PKMN is often used as an abbreviation for Pokemon. Pokemon Snap Wii U confirmed.

Reread my comment before you reply. I stated that we're talking about the WII not the WII U. Just clarifying it for you. However, while the Wii U isn't doing do hot now, Nintendo is releasing a plethora of impressive games late 2013 and early 2014. They've already got the trend set with Pikmin 3. They'll follow up with the others soon. So they are making games the fans want, we just have to wait a little longer. Pikmin 3 alone moved along 22,000 Wii U's in Japan alone on the first day.

The 3DS is skyrocketing in sales, along with extremely popular games like Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem along with the fact that the Wii U is going to get extremely popular games like Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 in HD for the first time, which will be by the time the Wii U sales start matching up to the fantastic, revolutionary Wii.
