I’ll be uploading a few more with and without an outboard DAC.. I did hook up the SMSL SU-1 .. It raises the Volume significantly as it’s run off my big PC thru USB to the back of the WiiM’s RCA in’s and is far superior to the DAC in the WiiM AMP.. This is after the latest WiiM update to add a 48 smooth click to the volume .. A great improvement to easy adjust volume LEVEL’s now.. As you can hear though, the ESS 9018 in the WiiM is still no slouch in the audio realm.. It brings out many details as you can hear.. Ask any questions you may have and I’ll try my best to answer.. Own 3 sets of LS50 META & LS50 META Wireless II speakers for space saving good quality sound around the house. Also picked up the WiiM Amp when 1st available. It does a decent job of driving the LS50 META but they sound lots better with higher power amps. For the powered version each tweeter is driven by an internal 100W class A/B amp & each midrange/woofer has a built in 280 watt class D amp, so 380 total watts per speaker. With the LS50 META on sale in USA thru December from authorized dealers for ($999) 38% off, good time to buy them. The self powered LS50 Wireless II is also on sale for $1,999 (28%) off. Use 7 other sets of larger speakers for more critical listening. 3 sets of planars & 4 sets of conventional driver speakers. Enjoy the music!

PS: The WiiM Amp is showing in stock from WiiM on Amazon this morning ~ 10am. When the KEF's are on sale at substantial discounts it's often before a new updated version is coming sometime soon. Both the regular & powered LS50 META's have been available for three years, so updated models are somewhat likely.

Great info for a new LS50 Meta buyer 😊 but I got out of cash for a nice match amp. I'm going with wiim amp meanwhile. Have you paired the metas with Hegel H95? Do you think is enough power to get most of the metas? Enjoy music!

I'm a fan of KnuKonceptz in general. Discovered them 15-20 years ago when I was doing a lot of car audio builds. Been using their RCAs, power wire & speaker wire exclusively ever since. EDIT: KnuKonceptz make some 0/1 awg power wire that you can easily wrap around your pinky....

After seeing them Live in the 70’s and many times after that, They are certainly in my various audio collections..They are an Audiophile standard to test any new gear .. I’m 70 now, my PC & HD’s hold over 150,000 tracks, Physical CDs up near 1000. So lots to choose from.. More than some local radio stations., I had Digital before the Movie Theater in my Town did😂😂 We joked about it for years before they were forced to convert or go out of business.. Best2You.,

What do you think compared to AO300 as sound quality and dac?

Sound quality is better with AO300 DAC, plus there’s lots more power in the AO300 too.. But the DAC in the WiiM AMP is fine when you play with the EQ and other adjustments, especially low LEVEL volume listening with 3 way speakers.. It also has great BASS & Treble🤗 As I said to another commenter, The WiiM AMP does what it’s suppose to do at a very reasonable price.. The WiFi or Ethernet works fantastic too! Not one drop out & instantaneously hooks up to the internet in seconds and switches inputs just as fast.. It’s the Audio bargain buy of the year! Best2You..

Yes, and it’s worth every dollar ✅ The WiiM AMP was being sold on Amazon and Crutchfield but as of yesterday it is “out of stock” again..
