Also Thanos is apparently quite good at taking the penance stare, in one comic Thanos travelled to a future in which he had killed all sentient life except himself, the hulk who was chained up in his basement and kept as a pet and the ghost rider, the future version of Thanos would have the ghost rider penance stare him every day over breakfast and enjoy it. Of course this is comic Thanos, the one obsessed with trying to impress the personification of death so he can fuck her.

@@Zerhapy he didn't power through. It flat out didn't work. The penance stare worked on Strange, and he's league above in knowledge of otherworldly powers than Frank. This isn't a Batman situation where he's had every single mental training against magic, Frank is a regular dude with a military background and a psycho. Ghost Rider asks why the penance stare didn't work he says he doesn't feel guilty about what he did, the writer wanted to put punisher over the penance stare with no knowledge of how it works.

In there Johnny "FORCES" the fight even when his Ghost Rider half doesn't want to because in that SPECIFIC moment Hulf was Innocent/the victim. (Surprisingly). Result? Johnny puts up a decent fight but gets wrecked to the point he is knocked unconscious and Zarathos gets full control, at that point Ghost Rider simply leaves. Doctor Strange confirm it right after.

Yeah, there's a reason for why it's underhanded. In this case, "Durability" and "Killable" are not the same thing since GR's body can be destroyed from uber powerful blows but he can regenerate from just his flames

But Marvel told the story of the end of their multiverse, so why not give us a condensed overview? It's too cool of an idea to ignore.

Ghost Rider is such a Badass and all around cool character. It’s a damn shame they didn’t do the character justice in both films. Ghost Rider’s power set is so badass. The fact he can feed off a persons sins through his use of the Penance Stare and he can control and create fire with Pyrokinesis, just adds to his cool factor. I had no idea Ghost Rider was so powerful. It sounds like he’s become one of Marvel’s heavy hitters over the years. I really enjoy these comic related videos and with that being said you definitely need to do a wiki video on Doctor Strange. He’s also immensely powerful and because of that I would’ve never thought Ghost Rider could beat him in battle but apparently he can.

Let's not forget that, while I'm not sure if it is in the comics. But it is in the second ghost rider movie. That Ghost Rider can also swallow bullets and spit them back out as molten lead. Move at superhuman speeds. AND most importantly and the coolest thing about that movie. Turn any vehicle he rides into a hellfire empowered death machine. His Bike, A military truck and a gigantic bucket wheel excavator platofmr, which he drives around a quarry, ripping apart building with it's massive flaming wheel like a several thousand ton circular saw. In one of the World War Hulk comics, host Rider fought Hulk, but after Johnny was knocked out the spirit came out, looked at Hulk, and drove away, because as Strange explained to Reed after it happened "Ghost Rider only harms the guilty, the Hulk is innocent, while we are not"

Ghost-Rider's Penance Stare is *extremely* inconsistent. Like, even though we all know of that scene where he does it to Punisher, and Punisher doesn't care, it's far more likely he just let Frank live since it's worked on him in future comics as well as like minded people who also did not care about what they've done. It's not necessarily just a weapon, Rider also has control over what happens to the person when they're being stared at, he can choose to let them live. Also the time he did it Deadpool, he was laughing about it before it happened but seeing all the shit Deadpool did basically knocked out Johnny and when he woke up, he saw Deadpool depressed and moping and asked Johnny basically what it meant to be a good person.

It worked on Frank in the 90s too, that whole deal in Thunderbolts was because Deadpool healed Frank with an Angel's feather a few issues before that, cause it made Frank puke when Ketch stared later on, and Deadpools resistance may be because he was fused with Madcap around that time and Madcap was always immune to the stare

I never really thought about it, but Hulk and Ghost Rider are very similar in the sense they both at least at one point had alternate personas they couldn't control although in Hulk's case I guess the issue is multiplied by 5.
