Released in 1981 on Germain, this is Hugh Porter singing a truly soulful rendition of Teddy Pendergrass' all-time lover's classic "Love TKO". A track which oozes sheer class is somewhat let down by the poor quality of the Jamaican recycled vinyl. In fact, I've had to cut short the record by about 30 seconds because there is a huge crater in the disc that makes the stylus jump big time. Still, the rest of it is mostly fine.
This is also one of those releases where the labels have been stuck on to the wrong sides of the record. I've messed up when deejaying a couple of times playing the wrong side of this until I actually wrote on the label "other side"! he he.
This tune is for made for slow dancing, when you take your lover in your arms, look into her/his eyes and gently rock to the rhythm. Oh yes.
