It's also noteworthy that Julian Assange did reach out to the State Department before releasing the documents to the public regarding redacting names/info and the State Department refused to work with him. IMO, the State Department is to blame if anyone were to be hurt. (Even though I know - No One was hurt).

Inviting Campbell on for this segment was about as arrogant and ignorant as it gets. It's about the same as inviting Paula Vennells on to a discussion about the Post Office scandal whilst not inviting Alan Bates. Craig Murray who campaigned tirelessly for Assange would have been appropriate. Campbell to this day remains unrepentant about the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. To this day none of those military personnel that murdered the Reuters journalists and innocent Iraqi civilians have faced any sort of legal proceedings for their crimes.

About F-ing time. The US has never produced a single case of harm from Assange's actions. Compare the untold number of Afghans, specifically women, whose lives were destroyed by the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. There are many journalists in the UK whose political associations are one sided.

I strongly disagree .There are no "journalists" in the UK and certainly not on GMB . Assange has made history . He will still be famous and discussed long after Pierce & Co are gone and forgotten . . Campbell and his master will have their place in history too , but neither will be referred to in terms they would have hoped for.

@@leynagh Yes He did something very heroic, but he's not the only Journalist in history who put their life & career on the line. Example: what about all the Journalist in the war in Israel who lost their lives reporting through the free press. At least Assange is alive to be with his family.

Assange never should have been subjected to this. In the UK we are not protected by our government. The extradition of British citizens to the US should not be so easy to accomplish. He can also travel and give lectures at forums and universities, also give interviews and participate in numerous podcasts, giving him a very, very healthy income for the rest of his life…OR… He could decide to hook up with his old WikiLeaks buddies and continue to find whistleblowers, informants and people that are ready to hand him classified documents to be released on his platform… What path do you think Julian Assange will choose?
