This is impeccable! The church prime necklace for Tommy's faith, the visual representation of Tommy's trauma with distorted faces and broken bodies (a good callback to his limbo as well), the way its shown that Wilbur physically couldn't process the information at first and retreated into his own mind in an attempt to reconcile the concept of "Wilbur's hero" with "Tommy's abuser", the distant feeling of unreality in Wilbur's revenge fantasy, the way it falls to pieces by the end as he finally realizes Dream is irredeemable and the way overwheled tears stream down his face even as he shrieks rage. Even the echo-y, blurry way he snaps back into his body afterwards, they way he can't settle completely back into his skin quite yet. It's all just so amazing!!!

Wilbur is a very good example of why you don't traumatize the younger sibling to the point they lose the will to live because once the older sibling/siblings find out we will hunt down the person/people responsible and make their life a living hell because you fucked up

Okay, I've been wanting to talk about this for a very long time, and finally I find the moment to do so. Many people talk about how sad this moment is, but has anyone noticed that Wilbur's delusion/daydream could be in reality a limbo HE created for Dream? Just think about it. Wilbur is the son on the Goddess of Death and the Angel of Death, right? which means that he may have some sort of power or ability related to death, and said abilities (be it divine or magical or both) can run in his future bloodline too. It just may not be noticeable IN HIM at a young age. Now, let's take a look at Fundy. Not many people are aware of this at this point, I'm sure, but Fundy is a trans male character, which is mentioned only once in the story, at the very start. As Wilbur said at the beggining of the L'Manberg War arc, "he was born a girl, but then he decided he wanted to be a boy". I honestly think this goes far beyond inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, even if it was unnintentional, because in the end, what matters about this little data is the fact that Fundy was born a girl. A woman. Just like the Goddess of Death. Wilbur does not present death related powers (or not in an obvious way, and not at the start of the story), yet Fundy, his trans male son, does. This gives us the hint that the divine magic of death is a matriarchal thing, just like witches traspasing their knowledge from generation to generation via women, just taken to a next level. Why do I say this? Again, in case not many people remember, Fundy's lore states that his dreams become reality, and his dreams are very often nightmares. Have they become reality? Yes, they have! L'Manberg's destruction and him joining Las Nevadas were dreams he had and became true. Let's also remember that Philza said that one of the powers of the Goddess of Death is manipulation of reality, which she has used to change the environment around Phil to keep his home safe and hidden. Such description fits with the reason why limbos are personalized and why Fundy has the power he has so randomly. However, Wilbur DOES present divine death magic. Let's think about it for a second. He had a wife, Sally; she died. He had a prosperous country; it died. He had pseudo brothers and a pseudo sister; they've all suffered. And there is the latent possibility of this being caused by his own hand, directly or indirectly. Because L'Manberg's demise certainly was to an extent. Now, Wilbur has died and revived, and if we compare his experience with Tommy's, he wasn't as hypersensitive as Tommy was when he got revived. He also got acostumed to his limbo, even if he didn't like it, and there's just something about Ghostbur's character that doesn't fit with the other ghost's behavior nor existance conditions. Something different, a little detail that you can't explain nor quite place, but it is definitely there, and he's also the only ghost that ever behaves like a child (a child of death, may we say?). This brings us to my first conclution: Wilbur created Dreams limbo, and this has a very logical explanation too. He's been in contact with literal death, and not only his parents, but his experience in his own limbo and the time he had to get familiar with it. He is also a rare case, due to his mere existance meaning that he's the first and only ALIVE being the Goddess has ever created, plus she probably has an emotional, loving attatchment towards him (hence Ghostbur's childish, playful and loving personality. That was her raising the dead part of her child). Then he dies and a ghost replaces him, which he later replaces again, but now he's changed. Unlike Tommy, he looks more like a corpse, yet still thrives and lives like a person, and this undead kind of situation doesn't seem to interfere with his normal life. And then, over time, he eventually finds out what happened to Tommy in exile, and due to him not knowing yet about his skills, his emotions drive him through his first time creating a limbo/reality of his own. As demonstrated by Fundy, emotions are very important on how the process goes: when Fundy was distressed, the dream changed and got darker, when he was coldheaded, everything seemed to flow smoothly. Same thing with Wilbur, who only snaped out of it when 1) Tommy called out for him; 2) The night became day, which means that he was stuck there for a while; 3) His emotions got way to unstable to keep the limbo functioning. There's also the possibility that Wilbur's daydream could be a shared vision, hence why Dream was so alert when he saw them in the prison. Maybe he had just woken up from a very nasty nightmare that wasn't exactly a nightmare, but a limbo created in life because, then again, Wilbur is a miracle of life created by death, so maybe he can affect the reality of an alive being. This emotional stuff may also be why the Goddess is so detatched of her family: it causes strong emotions (love, joy, excitement), so it may interfere with her job, and we saw that when she possesed her husband's body, the stream was chaotic, which can be interpreted as something within the world/universe of the Dream SMP getting debalanced by her rare mood. To put an end to this, we have to consider that Wilbur canonicaly left. Cannon says he went to Utah, but if my whole rambling could make sense within the story, what if Wilbur didn't actually just leave the SMP, but that whole reality whatsoever? He's still young to divine standards, and has a lot to learn about himself (it would also be ridiculous for him not to realize something was happening after his delusion at Logstedshire, considering how smart he is), and he also knows enough about his mom bia his father or his own connecting dots. So, where did Wilbur really go, having a probable extended lifetime because of his divine/inmortal heritage which means he has a lot of time to learn and do stuff (same question goes to Fundy, if he manages to not lose his last life sooner than later, because he also left)? We'll never know. Thanks to anyone who dares to read this. This was a nice rambling

Holy shit dude, THAT IS SO COOL! Sorry i don't have as much words to say to you about your theory but this, THIS is the stuff I've been looking for a while, like when I heard Wilbur was the canonical son of Philza and Kristen/The Godess of Death, I found it pretty sus when there wasn't anything 'divine' to him and this proves his 'diviness' and I I just cant describe my happiness thank you my person! No stop this theory is SO GOOD. I actually love this idea, because I was thinking about how Ghostbur is such an anomaly because him and Wilbur almost coexist as different entities (although it literally being his ghost) with different personalities, different ideas, that would make so much sense if The goddess of death raised the “dead” part of him per say
