Johnny did a great job on this song.....it was him. He was one of the very best country singers who came out of the 1970's with a host of hits. This one is my favorite. The violin is great!

Johnny is great. Saw him perform in concert. An outdoor setting, under a roof, started to rain hard, and he kept singing, until it stopped and we could leave. So nice of him.

I can still remember when I first heard him on the radio way back in the early 70's. I remember thinking, I have to find out who this is. He did this song in G and that's quite a feat in itself. Really big voice for such a little guy. I went to see him in concert in 1974. His opening act didn't show up, so JRod came out and sang for 90 minutes straight with only a short water break. Near the end, he ran out of material, so he took requests from the audience. The man can sing.
