Thanks for all the comments everyone. This was our little indie store and we had to move some seriously heavy CD bins across carpet to try to give the band some more room to play. The store only lasted a few years after this before it closed, but we sure did have some great in-stores....from Sarah McLachlan to Lush to Sloan to The Posies.

Hold yer piehole , history & anyone that KNEW Jay , would agree he was concentrated on making that sonically deadass room , sound great. I’m sure not every band rearranged the space like Jay did that day. 🥧

Sorry I can't agree. He was a great anchor for Being There & YHFT when they get slushy/noisey because his style was so rote. Definitely great. In ensemble. During that period. But Tweedy knows how to manage his line-up to keep his songwriting propelled

LOL by 1995 we had the handheld cams with the flip-out viewing screens! Despite how archaic the technology was, I feel like we had it a lot better back then. Things were much simpler and living in the moment was so much easier.

I'll always prefer pre-YHF Wilco. I saw them several times in the late 90s, small venues, $20 ticket or whatever, standing in front of Jeff/Jay the whole show. I sure do miss that time. One of the best shows was at The Vogue in Indy. The Old 97s opened up. Saw them a bunch back in the day, too. Possibly the best concert I ever went to in my life was the Old 97s at the Southgate House in Newport, KY, ca. 2004. Incredible.

This is one of my favorite bands, I've seen them play live a number of times. Including an opening set from the mid 90's. Which I dismissed as boring. This is great to see but it actually reminded me of how much better they grew into being and of that unfavorable first impression.
