I saw them in Boston last night - after three hours and 39 songs, I feel very confident saying that they are one of the absolute finest live bands in today's music scene. DO NOT miss these guys if they come around your neck of the woods!

Yankee Foxtrot Hotel set the tone for indie bands to come. The setlist on that album is diverse in sound & feel that other indie bands took inspiration from it as a template, examples being Arcade Fire with Funeral and Modest Mouse with Good News Everyone.

Uma bela canção, num arranjo "simples" e muito criativo. Wilco é uma das poucas bandas realmente criativa surgida nos últimos tempos.

@bassnicola I like what you're saying. Perhaps a better way to look at whether or not depression is good is to question our obsession with the duality of good and bad rather than our personal emotions and thoughts and ideas. Depression is depression. When I experience depression I feel immense sadness, afterward I sometimes feel enlightened and happy, and am grateful for that spectrum of feeling.

Interesting this song was mentioned in the current season of "Billions" - a character says that Tweedy and Bennett had achieved a "mind meld" but could not sustain the proximity of each to the other...so that Bennett "left" Wilco. My opinion, after watching, "I'm Trying To Break Your Heart," is that Bennett was flying a bit too close to the sun, ingratiating himself and and actually intimating to the band that he was on equal footing with Jeff. That was the end of his stay. A real shame as "YHFT" would not/could not have happened without Bennett.

This song has always made me think of the World Trade Center collapse. Its like it could have been written by one of the souls who were trapped on the top floors.Maybe by someone who realized that this was the last day of his life but refused to let that stop him from doing his best to comfort those around him. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong,,but it is a beautiful song.
