I got here because I have a skunk pair under my shed. It's been weeks now, we always come out to the backyard and watch the sunset. They see us, but we leave each other alone. So far so good. Fingers crossed. And I live in a big city but in a poorer neighborhood that has bigger yards and less lawns.

When de-scented, skunks make good pets. I've seen them in pet shops.

Tomato juice is the WRONG thing to use. The CORRECT thing to use is actually DISH SOAP. You're welcome.

hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish detergent. This solution eliminates the smell and replaces it with a refreshing one. It is more effective than tomato soup/juice and vinegar as one has to soak in that stuff for a long time for it to work.

I have a skunk living under my front porch and have a small dog that only stays on the top of porch, as a deterrent I put a full sized wooden figure of a Great Horned Owl on my porch step. Now we live in harmony with the Skunk and hope one day it will just go and pick another place to nest instead of under my porch. ps. My dog has only seen the skunk once or twice and warned me that it was around. I made my dog come inside to avoid it getting hit by the stink. Close call indeed though.
