@Shaman Xeed I still believe ff7 to be overrated. I never have a great attachment to ff7 compared to ff4, ff5 (the great gilgamesh), ff6 (thanks to ultros (the GOAT), figaro brothers and celes), or ff9 (got to say zidane is quite a hero) I find ff7 to be just like "that" sort of game... I feel more emotional connection to wild arms 2 instead... So why can't I consider ff7 to be overrated?

My best friend from when I was 13-18 years old, died yesterday. We would play this game for hours on end. His room would have blankets on the walls so we couldnt even tell it was daytime out. One of us would play this game while the other would play Ocarina of Time on the 64. Same room, 2 different TV's. Entire weekend sleepovers. Good ol 2001-2002. Ill miss you Andreas. Even tho we grew apart, I believe being a part of each others lives was a blessing.

I never had many friends growing up. But this is one of the games that I did have to spend my time with. There were just some days I'd let this OP play just so I could chill. Eventually my PS1 died on me. Now 20+ years later I often find myself missing this. Not so much to go back to those days, but just to chill.

It took me years to find an original copy of wild Arms, my first RPG. Years. It was worth it though :) This is the story that started it all, the story before the FFs, before fantasy novels before... anything and everything. This tune brings back so many memories, it makes my facial hair stand on end. The intro, "To the End of the Wilderness" is by far the best alarm sound in my cell for a warm awakening ;)

When I was a kid, I couldn't get new games very often. The Summer after the Christmas I got my Playstation (X-Mas 1996) all my friends were playing Final Fantasy, and while I waited for my turn to play the neighborhood copy (we sorta just rotated our games), I bought this for 9.99 at a local used video game store). This game was my Summer '97. I forgot all about Final Fantasy and to this day this gem holds a special place in my heart.

This was the first rpg me and my bro played, we hired it from the local video store for the day(back when they were still around). we thought it was finished at the end of the carnival, needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised and begge our parents to let us pay for extra days to finish it over the weekend. It was a turning point in our lives for sure.

And regrettably never see again. Very rarely does a GAME OPENING rock. This brings me back to my early adulthood before I got into Anime. Sailor Moon was on USA at the time this game was released. Same can be said for the Lunar games, Tales games, Final Fantasy IV V VI IX, and Dragon Quest/Warrior. Now there is rarely an epic game anymore they do come out however some of the old greats like Ys is being revisited. Ys Chronicles+ and Ys Origins. I miss games with openings like this. :)
