Everything about this song is beautiful! I can have this on repeat and still feel the same as when I first heard it.

Always come back to it. I´m in Brazil and I can capture the essence of this song and the imagery behind it, even though I have never been to northern England . This is pure bliss. Gotta go visit Kendal soon.

Look at our love, a thankless thing A broken old branch where crow goes to sing A charred garden, a place of no easy pardon It's dead in the eyes, it's downright rotten But oh, baby, admittedly I could be somewhat curmudgeonly But nothing had changed, it stayed the same I came back and found you where you'd been left for dead Like something wounded No more of those crippling piggybacks You'll have to keep up, you'll have to stay amongst the pack And if you want in, I'll meet you where crow goes to sing That's if you want in, what is it they're blessing? But oh, baby, admittedly I could be somewhat curmudgeonly But nothing had changed, it stayed the same I came back and found you where you'd been left for dead Like something wounded

Best new British band around in the last 5 years. If there's any justice in the world, they'll be getting their dues soon enough. Meantime it's for the rest of us to enjoy!

I just watched The Needle Drop's review of smother, and I'm pretty sure I realise why I love this album so much: the reason he doesn't like aspects of it, and the reason I do, is that this style of music, I don't know how, totally captures the North of England really well. I can't pin it down more than that, but I've been living there (here) for two years now (I'm VERY southern), and it's totally grown on me, but still feels dark and bleak - it's really beautiful.

it isn't on an album, it's the b-side to one of the singles off their latest album Smother. The single is called Reach a bit further.

What a wonderful song!!! Since yesterday, i've been listening to it at least 50 times. I've already bought it on iTunes. However, Is there any particular reason for the Wild beasts for not having released this single with the wonderful album Smother? We may ask the same question for the singles Smother and Catherine Wheel. These three singles have been released each time with a single from Smother album.
