Great hog, try heavier arrows if your setup allows you, I shoot really heavy arrows with 75 pound draw and even if you hit the plate it’ll usually break thru

Just adding to the previous comment. Cut on contact and/or single bevel will help with lower poundage draw weight

Cut on contact fixed blade heads, minimum of 125 gr. Shoot a shaft about 1 notch heavier than called for by the charts for your draw weight. Add an insert for higher foc if you think it's helpful. Speed will be down, penetration will be up. Pigs are tough.

Im actually not sure of her arrow weight. I know they are pretty light and that has been part of the problem. We are currently building her a heavier arrow which should help with these penetration issues.

I believe you are doing the big boar hogs a disservice using the "truncated" tip broadheads. Some broadhead manufacturers make the false advertising claim that you get maximum penetration with their truncated tips. Not true thru the rib cage of a big boar hog. To get maximum penetration especially on a big boar through it's protective cartilage shield that covers it's rib cage, you need a true razor sharp, cut on contact broadhead. The leading edge needs to be a single blade head & I like the ones with bleeder blades further back. Examples are: my favorite the Steel Force broadheads, Zwickey and maybe the newer Magnus Stingers.

I know it sounds like a paradox but your second shot was a worse shot, and ypur first shot was better. Your arrow set up failed you in the first on. Get yourself a better arrow. Two blades single bevel broadheads, weight up front, little more mass...

it is not that the boars are tought it that the gear is not enough for it, for going hunting one needs appropriate gear and good placement of the shot.
