Wild Camping at the Brecon Beacons -Llyn cwm Llwch (Extremely windy test for the Hilleberg Niak)

Last nights camp out at Llyn cwm Llwch in the Brecon Beacons.
This was the biggest test for the Hilleberg Niak, I have never experienced winds like it!!

The Hilleberg Niak can handle more bad weather than most people can imagine especially in the UK everyone has the Hilleberg Soulo. With the Niak you save 600 grams and you have more space than the Soulo. Thank you for this beautiful video.

Your right pal they’re great! Absolutely chuffed how it handled last night! Poles bowed a couple of times but still remained sturdy and in tact all night 👌🏼 Glad you liked it appreciate the support!

@@thewelshnomad7094 a bit of flex is good anyway as it means they don’t break. So long as it goes back to the original shape you’re all good. Great tent for the weight and space.

A Hilleberg can take almost every wind! Nice video, beautiful landscapes.

Good to see the Niak held up so well. I use a Rogen, but they should be able to cope with pretty much the same.

Brill vid old chap! Must admit that I've the exact same sleeping mat as your goodself💥. I find it to be the best I've ever used(and I've had a few,including supposedly insulated ones( mentioning no names,Klymit insulated) which was no warmer than all the uninsulated mats I've ever tried). Cheers pal really appreciate it 👍🏻 I can’t disagree with you, since changing to my Trekology mat several months back I’ve had nothing but great sleeps, super comfortable! Used it in cold conditions few days ago with a foil mat and seemed to stay warm!

Was roughly 30mph with gusts of 38-40mph! Tent was taking it in its stride until it changed direction 🤦🏻‍♂️

Tbh I’d say no, when I spoke to Hilleberg after it happened they advised me the niaks and the yellow label tents are designed as below tree line tents apparently, that’s when I bought my Soulo! I know exactly what you mean though, would be nice to have extra room in the Soulo!

Bulldog Badger after last night, I’d stick to going there on week nights from now on! Last time I went in the middle of the week I was the only tent there lol! Getting extremely busy up Brecon on weekends!

The Welsh Nomad I’ve been sticking near Hay bluff and Twmpa and apart from camper vans in the car parks nobody around which is perfect.. that looks pretty manic.. think I need to rethink and maybe go motorbike camping on my Harley

I’d have been gutted. If I can see more than two tents, it’s not like wild camping. The wife and I are staying in a cottage in Snowdonia in a couple of weeks and I’m hoping to have a night wild camping. I’m choosing mid week so hopefully it will be quiet.
