So many words of wisdom here, where to start? ‘I’ve had worse pitches’; ’mornings like this are what wild camping is all about’; ‘can’t beat the smell and sound of bacon frying outdoors’; and ‘saves making any more dishes’ 😅 But what’s wrong with seagulls? As a Midlander, it’s a wonderful sound, gives me goose pimples every time! Fantastic location Gaz, and you gave a real feel for it. Your nostalgia makes it even more interesting. What a second home to have. Thanks for posting mate 👍. Rich.

Thanks mate , I've not been in any really bad winds with it yet but I know they are good in strong winds , there's a trekker on KZbin who uses it constantly in all weather's, the one man version though but its a similar design , they are really well made tents these, the mesh inside isn't the warmest though for winter use , you can keep the fly attached too so the inner doesn't get wet when you are setting up in the rain. As a local to Betws Y Coed and member and River Keeper of the fishing club in Betws Y Coed camping is prohibited up Llyn Elsi as is making fires etc… there are signs up to try deter people from doing so if you are going up to Llyn Elsi with the intention of camping there are several people like myself who will politely ask you to leave if seen camping,making fires and/or fishing without a valid day or season ticket sorry to be a party pooper but there are rules and signs up for good reason
@GazianoOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
No worries mate , I'd never fish or light an open fire there , I know some people have though , I pitch up my tent, leave no trace and then I'm on my way , wouldn't mark the ground with a fire or fish from the lake , I know it's illegal to wild camp in most of England and Wales, we take a risk when we camp and if you turned up and asked me to leave then i would no problem, most wild campers respect the land and leave no trace, there's people out there that let us down, but if we are asked to leave then we will, cheers mate 👍 atb
