Another awesome video of Tobi and you. I love to see you enjoy the 'Welsh Gold' with the sea salt chocolate. Blended in perfectly with the place and it's atmosphere. You never had problems with officials? I take it that wild camping is not exactly appreciated and there seems to be some trouble with 'investors'/land owners in Dartmoor who don't like hikers... Cheers, Michael Keep on going, I love your stories and Tobie!
@wildaboutwales4 ай бұрын
Thank you, Michael, I'm glad you're enjoying the channel. It's a beautiful place to camp. Wild camping is classed as a 'civil offence of trespass' so you're only ever likely going to be asked to move along. Although frowned upon by some, it seems to be widely tolerated by most, as long as you're following the 'leave no trace code'. I'm always careful not to camp on privately owned land and I've never had any issues. Once people see you're a genuine wild camper and you're not going to leave a mess, they're pretty cool with you. I did have a warden knock on my tent one morning in Snowdonia, I got caught in a terrible storm and had to pitch near a hostel, I explained my situation and he left me be. ATB, Ryan.
@michaelhess74144 ай бұрын
Thanks. That sounds like a good practice. Snowdonia is quite a busy place and I have almost cancelled the idea to make the Watkin Path because of too many people. I prefer to be by my self out there and with people in a pub 😊, cheers, mate, hope to see many more of Toby and Ryan's adventures.

Thank you, Chris. It was a great night in a magical spot. I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but if you haven't done it, a great route to the summit of Pen y Fan that I love is the Cefn Cwm Llwch ridge, from Cwm Gwdi, followed by a descent down Cwm Llwch valley from Corn Du. Anyway, enjoy your time off and happy trekking. ATB, Ryan.
@chrisarnold47094 ай бұрын
Cheers Ryan, unfortunately been up and over the Fan so many times over the years one way and another! Parked in Cwm Gwdi barracks a few times. I actually like the extended circuit from Talybont parking at the Bike hut there although that path back down at the end of the day is a bit brutal given the stones are so uneven...😮. I might try your route on the other side round Fan Llia on my leave week to be honest 👍

@@chrisarnold4709 yes, that area is beautiful to walk, Chris, and much more peaceful. I've revisited there for a walk recently with Marianne, and we headed to the Medieval Rabbit Farm in Ystradfellte, so peaceful and a lot of land that I've never explored. I hope the weather stays good for you.
