Dynamic grass and field damage like that stand out, even amidst the rest of the game. Just saying... would be nice to have in LB, CB, LB2 etc. :D

None of the art stuff matters to me. I haven’t gotten this game because the football and gameplay aspects aren’t there. In some ways, I’m starting to think that advanced graphics are the worst thing to ever happen to sports games. People went all in on the eye-candy and it killed the actual sport/gameplay authenticity.

I would take NCAA 06/MADDEN 06 graphics with more in depth features and player controls

i would disagree with you on removing cards and powerups, then it would not be an arcade sports game that's willing to play with new concepts and gimmicks that's what would make them different and unique even if you disagree with them. Now not all arcade sports games should not be like blitz, jam, or streets, otherwise that says failure of imagination, it could do some fun things with powerups and rpg and sim elements something along the lines of power pros, backyard sports games, and super mega baseball. Tape to Tape and Robodunk recently come to mind with these ideas in the indie sports game scene doing interesting things with rpg and rogue-like concepts. instead of doing that use 1 time powerups per quarter system, picking up power ups like mario kart to use them, or jam styled earning enough power or momentum to use abilities. which these are often found in any arcade sports title, but powerup systems should not always be that way for every arcade sports game. Also, where i think the devs that make playground arcadey sports games like wild card football tend to make the mistake of conflating pick up and play nostalgia without the depth of modern sim features outside the arcadey gameplay with bringing something new to genre and find easy success out of it. which i think is the same mistake alot of those Triple A devs and indie devs tend to make with their arcade sports games. To be frank, creating arcade sports game as a pick up and play and nostalgia is not a satisfying demand as it once was then, now arcadey sports game is gonna need that "best of both worlds" type of concept thing to evolve and survive these days and have high replayability. alot of fun and chaotic arcade gameplay with simulation features of custom teams and players maybe even a season mode and a touch of RPG. will always be the heart of replay value needed in todays games that and cpu vs cpu should be a given in ANY team sports game that comes out today.

Looks like they’re making a College Bowl game, probably where he’s spending most of his time. If he isn’t working on that game directly I think he may be doing some early development work on a potential golf game.

The technology exists to build an incredible football game. The problem is, nobody really wants to build an incredible game. Or at least, nobody with the money to do so. It's very strange. There's a gold mine waiting for whichever company/person breaks through first. Wild card football is a shell and doesn't have the vision necessary to be great.

It has potential, but they might be playing the long game to be bought out and let an even bigger dev team takeover But yea it's just okay, but once u get certain better player cards, all the rest of em become figuratively obsolete, which is understandable but it's just nothing more beyond that and maybe online play, but even then 🤷🏾‍♂️

It sucks, Jim. On a serious note, NBA Playgrounds was made before they were acquired by 2k. And the second version basically improved on what already existed, instead of being a fresh game. Both WWE Battlegrounds and Wild Card Football were made after 2k's acquisition. And they both suck, which leads me to believe that Sabre Interactive won't be able to produce another solid title in the future.

The game is fun to me but I think its designed to be head to head vs your friends with the wildcards on imo. Playing the cpu or turning the wildcards off just doesn't allow the game to be what it's supposed to be. Also if you're looking for simulation style with a deep franchise mode this isn't gonna deliver
