It's funny that when fussy Buddy finally gave in to the forest...for naked...rolled around, only then did the earth release her bounty. Then it went full circle for him to nap while Mom and Dad got to fully enjoy a experience longed for with a moment of peace. It's almost like the forest wanted you to have that culinary experience. I'm kind of a hippie. The intro looked so good with the salmon fishing and the uni! Buddy is building those stories! Cheers

Now i think i know why i keep on watching, liking and agreeing with you. 1st its the attitude of no stress, uncomplicated living. Next is the appreciation of the littlest thing like the chives that you can cut whenever in your garden, and that gratitude for people, family, the community, food, and even the dog” thats not yours “ that ate the bloody line on that fish. Bless your heart kimi...

It never gets old hunting mushrooms - the chanterelles are a yearly pilgrimage - we got through about 30kg this year. Both my kids can spot them from 50 yards. Loved your joy in finding them.

Fantastic! I live in Ketchikan and have had some good fortune with winter foraging for mushrooms. Today though I stumbled across some very large, mature golden chanterelles. They had already started to turn back to nature but since I haven’t found them before, I was very excited! Looking forward to next falls mushroom season. 😋

I'm in Northern Alberta, Canada. We get Morels in the spring and Shaggy Mane in the fall (along with many other varieties) but honestly when we've eaten fresh Chanterelles we have them fried in butter and black pepper and a wee bit of salt, then put them on top of a nice Moose roast or other venison. I don't know why, but they make for a fantastic pairing!!

golden, yellow foot, and hedgehog are all over there, i live in ketchikan and spend my summer in coffman cove on P.O.W. tendering for salmon on my boat miss mary, I pick them all the time, if you wash them in cold water and set them on a paper towel a couple hours they will be fine. i got some dive spots you'd love for abalone and rock scallops
@jamesbroderick53114 жыл бұрын
Chanterelles are single-handedly my favorite mushroom. And don't they smell like funky little apricots? :) If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, let me know! The chanterelles (specifically C. Californicus) here are known to be the largest of all chanterelle species. In one of my "spots," I've found one fruiting body that was literally-no joke-the size of my head. As for cooking, I like to tear my chanterelles apart like string cheese to create more surface area. I also place them in a screaming hot skillet with a tablespoon or two of water to allow the mushrooms to steam and release their moisture before adding any oil. It gives them the most beautiful browning, without having to add more fat.
