It was great to see both gens of the 14's side by side. I can see how the later gen would dissipate heat easier. I think the $350 is worth it for on/off throttle alone. Good video, thanks

If you want an even better tune I would go to Moore Mafia. You can mail in the ecu for $300. Moore Mafia tuned an Ivan’s concours and picked up 3.5 hp more. He changes the throttle fuel mapping to give you 100% power at any rpm in terms of fuel delivery. Throttle response and shifting is way smoother as well. I got mine tuned and it’s way faster than stock! 4th can hit 160 easily now.

Thanks for taking the time to post that info but yeah, I've already seen that video. I watch most of Chris's videos including the one he just posted of the Busa crash. I don't remember him mentioning that the tune he "fixed" was Ivans, mine is the other one. Anyway, I would not spend $300 for 3.5 more horsepower. Now if it was 3.5 hp on top of 6 hp then heck yeah but 3.5 hp on top of 160 hp is something I wouldn't feel. Thanks much for watching!!! Ride safe! 🦾

thankyou for great content video explaining for the guys out here with the concours 14... great insight ...cheers,, its all in the smoothness throttle ecu helps out/mpg/ and little more power . only changes if dual exhaust on it then more umph -- get zx 14 with bags --if want more..

Dual exhaust doesn't make more power than a 4-1. That's why aftermarket doesn't advertise or make a dual setup, just slip on for them. No race bike runs a dual. Even to get better power V- Twin bike are better with a 2-1 and not a dual setup. The dual setup is a zx14 header, those do run into 1 and back to 2. Although the head pipes are a bigger diameter than the Concours header, that's where the extra umph comes from, but the dual is just extra weight and looks good.

@@adamsale4438 its all in the header for extra 10 hp.. top end drag race/ but for street twisties ect... not really worth it get a zx14 with bars raised... cheers.. love my connie

Good feedback, personally I think I'll put my spare change into a MCcruise control kit, someday... too many farkels not enough cash🤣

This bike has plenty of horsepower for me. I was looking at the Shoodaben Hammer tune strictly for better power management i.e. added low end and better throttle response. In your opinion, will I be disappointed in those areas?

I am going in tomorrow to hopefully test ride a 2014 with a few mods done to it (large trunk with backrest, extended handlebars, etc). I do not think that it has the ECU flash which is a high priority since I live on the grid and it made a world of difference to the jerkiness of my VN1700 Nomad's (which I am selling) throttle but I will be lucky to get a month of riding out of it before the nasty Sask prairie snow falls; Saving the ECU flash for early next year.

I deal with this every day, working at a muffler shop. People just want their cars louder. Hack up a lot of factory exhaust exhaust systems, just to remove mufflers.

Yep, bet you see crazy stuff. My muffler rusted through on my '06 Ram Cummins at only 37K miles so I replaced it with a full MBRP stainless system from turbo back because the new whole system was slightly less than just a new OEM muffler and I got rid of the cat. Stock HP is 325, bet ya I have 327 now, wooohooo! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
