This was a lovely spot you fished here John. I've never seen the striper in droves like that so close to shore in such clear water. Us west coast fisherman got our work cut out for us. Even with the right time, right place and perfect conditions it can still be a grind just to get one keeper out here in northern California. I get the occasional Bonito and Albacore from shore and they fight like hell compared to Striped Bass.

RM Lytle like a suspending jerk bait ?
@rmlytle5898 жыл бұрын
Suspending jerk or one of the old floating ones. Smaller swim baits, unweighted should work too. I usually out-fish spin fisherman with a fly rod when stripers are on silversides but I'm sure if you downsize appropriately you could do just fine with spinning gear.
@hookdup19278 жыл бұрын
RM Lytle i dont know how to fly fish
@rmlytle5898 жыл бұрын
It's a fun way to fish for stripers. If you ever have the time, give it a try. It isn't as hard as it looks! But you should be able to get the silverside eaters by downsizing and making sure you aren't using something that will sink to the bottom too fast.
