When the gear became detached from the paper it made me jump because the beginning was so smooth and seamless 😂😂 I recently purchased the full page gear set and cannot wait to try these designs thank you and keep it up

Surprise !!! Look at that design - would have never thought it would make that - Cool design. I use the steel sheets under my paper and hold that down with the earth magnets, or neodymium as they are also know, instead of using the putty. Another thing you might be interested in - my gears were getting really ugly looking with all the ink and marker on them - so I cleaned them off with rubbing alcohol - works like a charm - and now my gears are all new looking again. I love the wild gears. Thanks for taking the time to show these videos.

Very cool! Maybe you could also tack the smallest gear down and draw with a hole in the outermost ring

Enjoyed video, have you bought multi sets of these wheels?
@Spirographicart Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have multiple sets, and I've given up on keeping them separate. I've collected all the under-30 gears in one container, all the 80-something gears in another, etc.
@shamza2865 жыл бұрын
So when will there be a wheel within a wheel within a wheel?
@empanada657 жыл бұрын
With the first wheel the pattern had seven points but when you make the wheel half the size, you doubled the points and ended up with a 14 point pattern.

@@jarijansma2207 I'd never heard of it (I'm from a different generation and possibly country, not UK) so looked it up. Wow, that's another world in itself. Even in the Wikipedia article, I see the various influences that you mention. D&D is more popular in Canada. I'll ask my 20-year-old son if he has heard of Warhammer.

What's the technical term or title or name for that large ring gear that has teeth on both edges?
@Spirographicart3 жыл бұрын
Spirograph has always called it a "ring".

Beautiful! What do you do with your designs when complete? I would like to make greeting cards. And also frame some of the larger designs.

See my website for ideas (link in the description, or this page: spirographicart.com/category/use-your-designs/). Greeting cards are a very good thing, and you can buy pre-cut and scored paper.

This vid proves what always frustrated me. You get all excited about a really cool design from a complicated setup and the dang thang buckles on ya. ARGGGG! That's why I never used my spirograph much. Maybe I should have hung in there with it and it woulda gotten better, but I never did.

I can't get my head around this concept. How does the small wheel on the inside make a single line forming a pattern, when at any given point it can draw it's own 360 pattern?

This is NOT the original Spirograph, as the one originally created years ago had pins to hold the wheels in place to a sturdy cardboard; this kit uses silly putty, which is a poor substitute. I would NOT advise buying this toy; it is a cheap imitation of the original.
@Spirographicart3 жыл бұрын
With respect, this is not Spirograph at all. You're thinking of the new Spirograph by Kahootz Toys which came to the market in 2013. I wrote an in-depth review comparing it to the original Spirograph of the 60s and 70s (spirographicart.com/2013/11/18/compare-new-spirograph-deluxe-super-spirograph/). I rather prefer the putty to the pins in most situations, actually, but you can read about that on my website. The product in this video however is not a cheap imitation of anything. It is actually rather expensive, compared to Spirograph. It is laser cut on demand from acrylic sheets - a completely different manufacturing process. I call it "Spirograph for Grownups", and you can read about it here: spirographicart.com/wild-gears-spirograph-grownups/.
