Welcome to another local and wild foraging tip from Les Stroud! For every episode of Wild Harvest (*Full episodes as seen around the world here on this KZbin Channel, look for the playlist, and in the US as seen on American Public Television PBS stations), we have pulled out moments specific to either Les Stroud’s foraging tips, Chef Paul Rogalski’s cooking tips or some simply wonderful show moments, some of which may be behind the scenes or out-takes that didn't make it to the full episodes.
Enjoy your foraging!!
Directed By Les Stroud, Kevin Kossowan
Starring Les Stroud, Paul Rogalski

Sphagnum moss is what we used as butt wipes, as country kids when out in the woods - great, but always check for pine needles!! Also great as a sanitiser and as a water filter. Poopin in the woods tip: find an area of sphagnum moss;often near under pines/larch; kick a divet/sod of it up, and set the piece aside(making sure it's clear of any needles/tigs); poop in the hole made; wipe butt with moss piece, and place upon turd when done, then press over uplifted moss onto and over turd - No mess, no smeel, no fuss, no sign and NO chance of accidentaly stepping(or worse) in a human turd!!!

Yeah I said the same thing on his previous upload. Where are the episodes?! Then, like you, I saw they’re on pbs. So I downloaded the pbs app but yet I still can’t find them! Nick, if you find them reply to this thread lol!

@@BPBomber your best bet is to buy some good ol' bunny ears for on top the TV . (TV antenna set) if you aren't familiar with how an antenna set works, just hook it up and wiggle the rods around til you achieve reception. Lastly, Find the channel for PBS. In addition, to view TV program times, go buy your local newspaper. They'll be listed in there.

Good toilet paper but also for wounds. Hope there's a good way to tell if some has already been used or not.

I looked at some sphagnum moss under a microscope with my kids looking for water bears, there’s so many nasty little critters in there, no way I’d wipe my butt with it lol.
