Don't care for the resident leeches. We had them in Alaska, when we lived there, in the lakes, and they put out salt barrels to keep them away from swimming spots.

Really interesting following your travails in Oklahoma with all the bugs, hogs, snakes, etc., plus gabillions of ticks. Glad we only have a few of those critters, but no water moccasins, cottonmouth, and just some rattlers in the Salmon River area where my mom lived on a houseboat during the depression, and they panned for gold for a living. North Idaho has one really bad pest - all the "newbs" that have moved into the area from California, Washington, and points east that drive like sh*t. Good thing many of them are getting tired of our patriotic, no nonsense ways. We share a love of lack of bodies as farmers in the Palouse, and thankfully, our well produces 160 gpm of great water with only a little calcium in it. Nearest neighbor is a mile away across the road, and none behind us. You are doing such a great job with your kids teaching them how to survive and thrive. Never go anywhere without carrying, and a nice 1911 would have done a better job on that hog you took down, without a rifle at hand. We raise wheat, barley, lentils, chickpeas, and bluegrass on our section. We get grass fed bison from nearby guy for around $800 a half, made into burger, and make dog and cat food using it and our lentils cooked with carrots, some barley, and spinach. I am pulling for you to find that other well on your land and be able to make use of it. Take care!

Dutch you need a good walking stick/staff for walking trails with weeds. The vibrations of you tapping the staff on the ground as you walk will make snakes closer to the trail curious and they will pop their heads up.

Wasp stings !! I was at a friends party w/ lots of people on the back deck of their home. Unbeknownst to any of us there was a huge wasp nest under the deck. Apparently all of the people on the deck upset the wasps. It was summer. We were all wearing shorts. When all the sudden a wasp flew up my shorts. It stung me on my private parts. I immediately dropped my shorts and all.. I was jumping around like a fool NAKED from the waist down. The guests thought I had lost my mind, until the wasps attacked them. Then everybody realized what was going on. I was very embarrassed! However, we all had a GREAT LAUGH ! Once we dispatched the wasps.. 😂And the party continued as planned.

Those bees as you call them are actually yellow jackets. They live under ground. They feel your vibration as you walk around.

My father refused to cut a tree unless it was threatening a building, 160 acres, he’s 90, it’s so overgrown now. We had it since early 70’s - the lake never truly filled up and over the spillway until 2000’s. It’s probably so silted in over the years the original 20’ is now 10’

Pass this info on to Daniel, use Bentonite clay on stings of any kind, needs to be a wet paste consistency, apply to the stung area and let dry, reapply if needed, this clay will draw out the venom from the sting 100%

It is amazing how one can spend time in that clear water and have leeches attach without you knowing it. I swam in that kind of water in Missouri, Bull Shoals, as a kid. The adult I was with pulled a good sized leech from my back. I didn’t know it was there.

Dutch I just read an article about copperheads . They love and feed on cicadas and feed on them at night. They warned to be extremely careful at night especially around trees because they will climb trees to get to them.

Take some baking soda and water, then take Benadryl on top of that that will reduce the swelling and pull out the stinger and whatever else it has in it

I'm cracking up thinking of Longhorn Lester swatting bees and fire ants jumping around walking around in wild pastures with bees trying to sting him in the crotch area. (Daniel, the shirt triggered this thought) Wanna bet Lester would be carrying a can of bee spray foaming the nest from 30 feet away while tearing his pants off? OMG it's too funny! But we know Lester, he'd be wearing protective gear made of steel mesh! I'm lmao thinking about it! Hope we get new updates on the pigs getting used to their new feed trough Daniel!

Get some flex seal to repair the leak in the spillway pipe. There is several types of flex seal. Some of it works under water

Daniel if you have any meat tenderizer you can make a paste with a little bit of water and the meat tenderizer and put it on the sting and it will draw the poison out of the sting

I love bees for pollinating, but not when they attack! Ground bees are the worst. Little sister got stung over 100x when we were kids. Not sure anymore how old we were, but guessing, 6, 8 and 10. Oldest sister yelled at me and said we had to pack Karen down with mud and run as fast as we could home. We all got stung, but Karen was the last one to jump over the log in the woods. We were a good 1/4-1/2 mile, so us two practically carried and ran her home. No problems, Mom got her washed up and a baking soda bath and something else, with no health issues for any of us 3. Now wasps--got stung 2 weeks ago and that hurt and swelled up/stayed red for a few days. I love when you different YT's get together. Love you all.

The cedar trees are considered by most farmers and ranchers as invasive plants here in Texas. All you can do is pull them, spray them or burn them.

The best thing for sting's is ammonia full strength keep a small bottle with you and cup the sting with the bottle and turn it up hold it there for a few seconds or until the pain stops... it's amazing

Apply a paste of meat tenderizer and water to sting site. Leave on site till dry, about 15-20 minutes. Pain and swelling should stop.

Sorry to see you guys getting attacked by bees, but when get bit take dirt and make a mud pack put it on the sting,helps, or baking soda pack. moisten the dirt to make it mud and moisten the baking soda to make it a pack both work,I am allergic to bees and got stung in the eye last year and thank goodness my neighbor paramedic. You guys are brave and awesome fathers and husbands,god bless you both! Love how you teach your kids, thats awesome

Those are yellow jackets. They nest in ground. Once they touch you and get your scent they will track you and then others join the chase.
