Wow, that is incredible! Such displays of aerial acrobatics! The jackdaws seem much faster and maneuverable compared to the crows while chasing the kestrels. Quite the show indeed!

Yes, the larger bird species appears ponderous in comparison. I admire the crows for their efforts to keep up with the kestrels. I have the impression that crows consider kestrels as perfect sparring partners. Although the kestrels could do without silly crows games. It was nice for me to observe how the kestrels can return the favour. There are more flight show videos in the channel, if you are interested.

@@kestrelsandcrows6871 yes, I went through some of your other videos with crows and kestrels, cool channel name btw. I do have a particular fondness for corvids but love all birds. They are fascinating creatures.

I've noticed there's little genuine animosity between crows, kestrels & jackdaws, but they seem to use each other for practicing aerial combat so to speak.

Yes, this is my impression, too. The kestrels and the crows share the same area, they have to live with each other's presence every day. There are conflicts, but sometimes it looks as if they fly together like good friends. When they chase a buzzard away, they often do it together. I think that crows like the kestrels, because they are great sparring partners. Kestrels could live without silly crow games. They don't want to be distracted when they are looking out for voles on the ground. But kestrels benefit greatly from crows because they often use their old nests. All three bird species pose a threat to each others chicks during the breeding season. The aerial combat practice takes place after breeding season.
