South African aviators James Pitman and Mike Blyth are lapsed, adventurers. They blame the bureaucracy of running their own aircraft business on this sad state of affairs. Now, in their prototype taildragger, they search for the soul of Namibia in an attempt to rekindle….the Flame!
This is PART #3 of the pilot episode for Wild Landings Africa. We hope to one day make the series!

This was so awesome to watch. Even my wife enjoyed it and she's not into flying like I am. The production is so well done and all your efforts came through perfectly. I really hope you guys produce more of these, I can't wait to see more... Thanks for doing this...

Beautiful! It's funny, I found myself thinking about the third person who was there all along to do the filming (and in the end, there he is, the man behind the camera. That was funny!). Still, excellent production and incredible images of an astonishing beautiful place. The sense of adventure and the humor affect us. Greetings from Lisbon!

Hi, guys. Well, I finished the trio of videos and learned more than I ever know about Southwest Africa. The people are the stars of the show. They were so great. Of course, I love the little airplane too, as I should, given that it made all of this possible. Great photographer as well. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!

I enjoyed the hell out of this and the other videos on this channel! It’s been so inspirational to me and really has inspired me to get a PPL and fly around the world. Out of curiosity how was the filming done? Is there a cameraman along with you guys as well recording from a distance and from another plane or are those drone shots?
@WildLandings
@WildLandings 3 жыл бұрын
There was a 2nd plane which had myself shooting and later editing the episode, and sometimes a producer who doubled as an assistant. Very few drone shots, as this was filmed in the early days of droning, but had a couple gopros attached to wings and in the cockpit.

😊 We were 2 aerie indeed. The second one actually did just the same as the first. And it had our test pilot, Sean, flying, with our mate Lloyd Ross who filmed as we went. Then he edited what you see. He also had a pretty cool time though. Personally I think the footprints were Sean's, but he denies it!
