I didn’t think the meat took on the flavors of the fruits and vegetables….. but it probably did a little…… the moisture was the biggest reason I put them in…… and they really help with that!

Nice I built one out of a propane tank works great. My dad built a boat and a fishing pier all out of propane tanks. If you ever want to cut one hit me up . We have cut many very scary the first time lol. But we got it down safe now 👍

McGie, the shiny side of the aluminum foil reflects the heat to the way you place it. If you put the shiny side towards the meat, it will reflect the heat on the meat. If you put the shiny side of the aluminum foil on the outside of the meat, it will reflect the heat away from the meat 🍖

Great video! You should hit Costco or Sam's up for some commercial grade aluminum foil. It's about 40 to $45 a roll but it's definitely worth it when it comes to smoking meat. I love my old stick burner smoker. These guys that have the pellet smokers. I call him a man's Easy-Bake oven. Always good to maintain the old ways so you're not dependent on technology.

Yep keep it simple, here in NC bbq is almost a religion in my neck of th he woods. After one of my bbq events a guy told me, Son that so good it makes your toung slap your brains out good. 🤣👍👍But I have never tried cedar wood, I will have to do that.Thanks.

Never would’ve used eastern red cedar as a smoking wood? It’s not really a cedar but a juniper. They do use the berries to flavor alcohol (gin).

A couple hours. It would be fine if it was just an hour or up to three hours. Just depends on how much smoke you want.

If cedar can be used to bbq, what about other evergreens such as pine, spruce, cypress, etc.? I'm not sure why I always thought it wasn't safe.
